Why do some people choose to mark best their first response when it is not even the best one? Is it because concluding a discussion makes one earn faster or get a better "star" rating? I just browsed a discussion where the one marked best made absolutely no sense. So I am wondering if that is some kind of strategy that people are using: just posting questions and quickly resolving them without actually evaluating the replies. I always wait a while before I mark anything best and I always read through all the responses. Sometimes I have trouble picking a best one because they are somewhat similar! But at least when I choose it will show some thought was involved! What about you? Do you read through all your responses and evaluate them properly before marking one as the "best response?
