My cat has found a new bed! He likes to sleep in the baby's crib I think. I just put it up the other night and we have already found lots of cat hair in it. I think I member hearing how something about a cat is bad for babies. Maybe the cat dandruff or something...Im not sure. How can I teach a stubborn cat that is sneaky when he knows he is doing something wrong to not do it. I dont have bedroom doors so I cant shut the door whenever. I am gonna try a baby cat and thick comforter over the doorway somehow and see if maybe that will work but if any of you have any suggestions...Feel free!! I need some!

Get an empty spray bottle that has NEVER had ant chemicles in it and fill it with water. Every time yousee your cat in the crib spray it with the water. I had a cat that would do the smae thing and her intention was to keep the baby warm at night but with that you also run into the cat laying ontop of the baby and suffocating it not meaning to. You know there are covers for cribs that you can get to keep animals like cats out. Shop arround you should be able to find them almost any where.

This is the best plan I believe because it really worked for me. I have taught my cat even before my little girl was born that even getting within a few feet of the crib would mean a squirt. Cats hate water and will learn to avoid it at all costs. Of course this means you will have to stake out the crib so you will be there to squirt the cat.
Another thing I did just in case the cat did get into the basket was I put down a old blanket that protected the mattress. Then when I laid the baby down I removed that blanket so she would sleep on fresh linens.

When my son was a baby I had a lovely lace mesh that draped over his cot, it kept the cat out and kept the bugs off him too. Alternatively, close the door so the cat can't get into the baby's room

You have no doors? When I was pregnant with my first child I put up an infant cradle in my bedroom. I found "our" cat sleeping in that cradle and I made it very clear to that cat it could not sleep there. Some people say animals will be very protective of the new baby. I would be afraid the child would be suffocated by the cat. And what if the child is allergic to that fur? Or inhales some of that fur? Some animals get jealous of new babies as well.
I would do everything you possibly can to make sure that cat does not go back to that crib. It is not safe.

In no way must cats and dogs be around a resting baby. This will pose a high risk in baby's health. In additition to what you are planning to do, the surest way to make the cat stay away from the crib will be to use a screen. Enclose the baby's crib with a cloth or nylon screen, there will be no way at all the cat can get in.
