Personally, I do not believe there are any bad dogs - just bad dog owners. Dogs form bad habits or behaviors based on what their owners allow. Alot like children in my opinion. I have a yellow lab and a golden retreiver - both of them had issues when they were small. Just like small children. But if you work with them and TEACH them how to behave then there really shouldn't be an issue in the long run. Both of my dogs are amazing pets and I adore them. If I hadn't taken the time to teach them how to behave, they would be horrible right now - I know this. Unless a dog has some sort of mental or physical issue, then I put the power on the owners and if a dog is misbehaving, it's only because it's been allowed to behave that way. Good luck with your dogs!

As far as I know, a dog's temperment and attitude is a reflection of his master. You don't expect that a dog will be good if his master hits him all the time or starves him a lot. Dogs misbehave for the same reasons that humans do. In order to correct this, a dog's owner should show respect to him first and foremost. Gain his trust and afterwards, teach him diciline properly, not too abusive yet not to light. Feeding him well and praising for the good things he does certainly helps. Also, punishing him for the misbehaviors is also required...

I've never owned a dog though I would love to. I would say... be nice to your dog. Dogs are very loyal creatures and if you treat them right, you would not need to discipline them.
