I have jury duty coming up this week. Any tips from people who have been there?

I have only been called for Jury Duty once and was not picked, or should I say the defence objected to my being on the jury because of my occupation at the time. LOL Good luck and I hope it goes well for you, and that you get a case that doesn't drag on endlessly. :)

Thanks for the reply. Actually what happened is I made the obligatory phone call the night before and the voice recording told me I was dismissed, I was NOT to report, my duty was complete. So, I never had to actually go there. I was worried for nothing!

That was some good luck for you. Actually the days in court can be long and tiring just waiting around so I imagine it would be much worse if you were on the Jury and had to absorb everything that is being said.

DeenaD, sorry I'm not seeing this post till now. Although you didn't get called perhaps you would like to hear this one. I was called to jury duty about 2 years ago this fall. I made the phone call the night before hoping not to have to go. But my number was up so I reported the next morning. I took a book and passed time with about 50-75 others. We seemed to be waiting a long time when we were all called into the court room. The judge told us a witness for the prosecution did not show up which their case depended upon so the trial did not happen. But i went through the process and once I was there I was excited about being a part of it. Up till the time I got there however I was not looking forward to it.
