Do you think Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (Iranian President)a bad person? I personally don't think so, he's doing his best for the good of his country. But I found a lot of people dislike him. Wanna share your views?

I don't know him personally, maybe he's doing the best to serve his country, but I think we need to watch out for and be careful about the president of a country who hates Americans and burns the American flag and screams at demonstrations 'down with America' and 'kill all infidels' and these same people are trying to make nuclear weapons. I think we need to be wary.

I don't know him personally either. I don't think he hates Americans, though I do think he hate the current American government (Bush & the gank). And there is still no proof that he is going to build a nuclear weapon, he said it was for peaceful purpose only. Now, what do you think about other countries who have nuclear energy, like the Israel, Russia, US, UK, France, they're free to build theirs, how come other country can't follow? It's a polution free energy that everybody wants, so I believe everybody should have one. Nobody said "NO" when Israel build their nuclear power? What makes Ahmadinejad worst than say Ariel Sharon? When I read a story about Ahmedinejad before being a president, he was a simple Teheran governor, that work hard, gave full attention to his people, take public buses to office, etc... I think it's an example of a good leader, he walk the talk... don't you think?

Your right he does seem to be the man of his people, doing the right thing, trying his best to lead his country, and personally I don't think anyone or any country should be building nuclear weapons. But, I have heard that according to the religion of Iran, all of the citizens (correct me if I'm wrong) hate America. They're shown on the news burning effigies of Bush, and anything that has to do with America. I still am very concerned about the fact that Iranians or Muslims for that matter are let into the U.S. knowing how they feel. If they had a chance they would kill us in a second, thinking it's good to kill an infidel. All I'm saying is beware of the trojan horse.

I don't really think that he is a bad person. it just happens to be that he is not understood or is too simple to believe in. infact i think he is one of the better leaders of present world. offcourse you may disagree with me or anybody can for that matter but as per his background, what i have known, he is simple and humble. He is a son of blacksmith and he is proud of that and i think it is one of the great things about him. He served well as governor of Tehran specially in transport sector, in which he has his PhD. He also assumed a culture of humility for himself, another great thing about him. Now comes the controversial part, that is political one. indeed he has said somethings which are not as diplomatic as world expect a president to say. but i would like to point out that western media has much politicized the issue and somewhat distorted his statements to look scary. for example he never actually said that "Holocaust is a myth", he only said that holocaust is an excuse used by zionist to usurp the palestinian land. now there is a difference between "excuse" and "myth". he also questions the number of jews massacred in that event. his whole point is that this event should be investigated. Now the whole western world who boast of their freedom of speech rights don't allow revisiting of historical events, while at the same time hurt muslims by making cartoons of Prophet MUHAMMAD in the pretext of freedom of expression. About Nukes, Iran has every right to develop peacefull energy reactors, but it should assure others that the use is not deviated from peaceful purposes. having said that, i wonder where were these countries who are crying now when Israel was making nuclear arsenal? where were they when other countries were doing that with the help of black markets? it's seems more like a political issue than security issue, given the double standards of America and Europe. About hostage crisis, this is too a politicised issue which could have been better resolved through diplomacy than media. i hope it will be settled down. sorry for a bit long response but i am not very good at english so to express means more words for me:-)

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stated publically that he would not only welcome an apocolypse to usher in the return of the 12th Imman, but that he felt an obligation to bring this about. How can anyone even contemplate letting such a man have access to nulear weapons? Is he a bad person? Wrong question. The correct question is, "Is he a bad person or merely crazy?".

How is he doing the best for the good of his country. He keeps raising tensions between his countries and others, his country has an atrocious human/civil rights record program, and he denies the Holocaust, hates Jews, and hates Americans... I'm not thinking he's such a good guy. It is even rumored that he was one of the Iranian students that took the US hostages in Iran for 444 days in 1979.

"If he were a true leader, he would work with the rest of the world ...." Just as I have been saying: Sanctions are the most TERRORISTIC TACTICS used by bullying nations to coerce another nation into compliance, regardless of the consequences of compliance to the threatened nation! According to MrNiceGuy, the USA and its cronies and Israel should be the ones allowed to have WMD, so that they can wave it against any nation that would not comply with their whims! Talking about shamelessly and completely void of reason! Lot2nabila, you forgot Hiroshima and Nagasaki in your list of attacked nations by the USA. Let's make sure the double standard stops right now!

If he was a true leader, he would work with the rest of the world to prevent his country from being damaged by military action of trade embargos and he wouldn't run a country with one of the worst human rights records today. Yeah, typical. Everything is the West's fault right? Iran SHOULD NOT have nukes, period. It would be a bad idea. As few countries as possible should have nukes, not to mention Iran with its aggressive nature and verbalized threats... He has denied the Holocaust and then said that it was "at least" exaggerated... He's a loony moron.

Thanks MrNiceGuy. I think the raising tensions is caused by the western countries (who have nuclear power) doesn't want Iran to have one.., that sounds childish and unfair don't you think? They can have it, why other countries can't? About the holocauset, I don't think he denies it completely. If I remember correctly, he was saying that they exaggerated the numbers of the victims to get symphaty (and funds) from many countries. Which support them to form a new country and took some part of Palestine... and now they can do whatever they like... I'm not aware of the hostages incident in 1979, but from what I found from the net, there is no saying of his involvement. So I guess, good or bad is depends on who sees it. In the eyes of Iranian people, it seems like he's a true leader, who cares of the well-being of his people and the future of his country, while US and many western countries thinks otherwise...

I don't know much details about the president of Iran. From what I could gather he is a true patriot and a very simple man. His only intensions is about bettering the life standards of his people. How can anybody find fault on this? On the other hand the US and it's allies are after countries which they think are threat to world peace. We all know what happened in Iraq. The US and Co., baselessly alleged Iraq of piling weapons of mass distruction and having links with the evil powers who plotted the September 11 attack on US. Now after the invasion they cannot find any WMD. In the case of Iran the US is creating a situation in which they can put Iran in the evil side. In the current situation the US and Co are the real threat to world peace. They plan war after war. Their war on terror has evolved into a horror to the world. They don't cooperate with the UN. They don't even pay levies due to the UN. In the attempt to contain global warming they don't even sign the Kyoto treaty. They don't mind to pay heed to many of the UN General Assembly resolutions and veto many security council resolutions. They do not cooperate with the world to bring down proliferation of neuclear weapons. The plea that they could keep any number of neuclear war heads and others should not have any is simply unacceptable. In short, exploring if Ahamadinijad is a good person is meaningless. The situations leading to his present stance should be evaluated.
