When is the right time to discuss The Reproductive System, and BOYS?

When is the right time to start discussing to your daughter about boys and the reproductive system? and How do I start? My daughter turned 14 last December, and to this day, I am still reluctant to talk to her about anything on these matters. She studies in an exclusive Catholic girls school, and all her friends are girls. I know, for sure these are things she could easily discuss with her friends, and, since I myself graduated from the school where she is studying right now, I am quite aware that the school orients the girls about the reproductive system. But when do mothers and daughters talk about this? I don't even want to talk about boys... simply because I'm afraid initiating the topic might arise her interest in the opposite gender! But I do need to know what's on her mind and be able to guide her before she gets the wrong ideas from kids her own age. Mothers of pre-teens and teenagers, please give your advice!
