LCD or Plasma?

Recently I was looking around to buy a TV but when I approached different electrical outlets they give me different kind of advices. Some asked me to go for LCD and some say better to buy plasma. They all have their own reasons for stating so. But finally I end up buying plasma tv without knowing which one is better LCD or plasma so why don't you tell me?
