Are Halliday, Burnett and Chacin enough to win the World Series?

I know everybody is complaining about our staff not being good enough, but seriously, you need THREE pitchers to win the World Series. If the Jays get into the Playoffs, can those three win it for us? I think they are good enough for sure, but I question how much their lack of playoff experience will come into play.

In the playoffs I don't think that Chacin can hold his own. His win-loss record is pretty great but his ERA in those years is far from stellar. But thinking of the playoffs is way too far ahead. I've been reading predictions for this season online and not one reputable magazine has put the Jays in the playoffs so unless Ohka/Thompson/Marcum/Towers/etc can produce more than hoped, we could be on the outside looking in for another season.

The imbalanced schedule makes the wild card even tougher for us. The only advantage we have over the Red Sox and Yankees is that we don't have to play the Blue Jays 19 times. I say if they can clobber the sub 500 teams the way they should be, we can take this division. It'll be interesting to see how Chacin develops this year. I can't disagree with you, but I can't agree with you yet. Also, if Chacin can be .500 in the post season, maybe Halliday and Burnett can pick up the slack.

By the time it's said and done Chacin will be lucky to hang on to his spot in the rotation. I see the rotation shaping up like this 1. Halliday 2. Burnett 3. Thompson 4. Ohka 5. Chacin/Marcum

So you think that if we make the playoffs, that Thompson will be pitching?

They will be alright! They have like 10 pitchers that are looking for the 4 and 5 spot. They will be competitive, I hope that Zambrano can get in the line up quick, He has good numbers against the Yankees and Red Sox! The best way to put it, Most of these pitchers are looking for good contracts next year, and that is when usually things turn out better than they should!

Yeah, I feel the same way. I am 50% sure they will make the playoffs. However, once they get in, it won't matter who the number 4 and 5 guys are unless there is an injury. So I hope there is constant competition to move up that ladder.
