Graffiti...does it give a negative impression?

My class is doing an ad campaign on a BIG name company. I will not give out the name because it is a competition with other schools so I'm not gonna give anything away. A few classmates (ones that kind of are running the show) think that Graffiti could be a nice, non-traditional method of advertising. We would hire someone and buy a wall and have it done. However, at the same time...one could think of graffiti as a negative thing. Could it give the company a negative image when we are trying to give it a possitive image. Some people link graffiti with gangs. We live in a smaller town so some may not be thinking of that. What do you think? Their thoughts are that graffiti is STILL art. Yes, it is art and can look great... So I'm not sure on this issue.
