finding your child dead

i had a friend i went to high school with and a few years ago she died in a car crash. she was driving home late one night on a country road and ran into a telephone pole. the nest morning her dad heading off to work, he saw her car on the side of the street and started to panic. he stoped, got out and didn't see his daughter in the car. he thought oh good she's ok and just went somwhere for help. then he walked around a bit and saw her lying down in a pool of blood. she was throun from the car and was dead. could you imagine finding your own kid dead on the side of the street. that must of been so auful. 2 of my friend died 2 weeks apart from each other. anyway would you of rathered find your own child dead or have a police come to your house to say they were dead. i know neither but how could you handle seeing this.

I had something a little like that happen. My daughter was 18 months we were at my parents house she snuck out the doggie door she was found face up in the creak a few minutes later, not breathing and no pulse. I will never forget that awful feeling. They called it a near drowning because she was revived. So I would have to truely say niether it is a whole flood of emotions that I wouldn't want to see anyone hve to deal with.

wow.. both situations are terrible. I think I'd rather have the police come and tell me. I don't think I could handle finding my daughter like that. At least I would be spared the gorey sight.

Oh god, my heart just hurts even thinking of having to go thro this. Neither situation is bearable and I dont know what I would prefer...if I didn't have the choice. This is one of my worst fears, loosing any one of my children..and finding them just goes right along with that. I dont know if it would be something that you would ever get over. With you just decribing the above situtaion...I think finding your child like that...would be even worse than having someone come and tell you. You would have that image locked in your mind forever. :S

The way it is pictured here, I'd say that it is something no parent would ever like to see his child to be in. The accident was not only tragic, it is a scary one and a devastating sight for a father to behold. I can just imagine how the father felt seeing his daughter in such a condition. Yes, if I were in his shoes, I'd rather that a policeman told me about the incident. When I go to see my child, she would have been attended to already and cleaned before I see her. It will be a much less gory sight. The father, having such a traumatic experience, must have had bouts of after that.

This is such a horrific story. Ultimately, I don't know what or how I would handle this situation and I hope it never should come to this.

How HORRIBLE! That is just so incredibly sad. HOnestly, if it were me, i would rather the police cometo my house to tell me my loved one had passed on. i could never handle to be the one to find them.

This is something I don't even want to think about. I would be devastated if I lost one of my children and to find them on top of that, I would never get over it. My mom was on her way home, it was 1993, she saw a truck wrapped around a tree and thought it looked way to familiar. It was my grampa, her father, almost decapitated. The worse part is, this was almost like history repeating itself since the same thing happened with her sister when I was just a baby. My mother was a strong woman, but those images never left her.

My brother in law crashed his Ninja Kawasaki and my sister in-law was waiting up for him all night, she was sitting on the couch and watched a sheriff walk up to her front door, she knew. It's sad, it happened right after 911 and it's still hard to get over it. I have had many people in the past 6 years that I love die. Could even imagine if something happened to one of my kids or nieces or nephews, the though breaks my heart!

That would have been terrible. I think that I would have rathered to have the police come and tell me. I would have hated to see that because that picture will always stay in your mind, and thats not the way to remember your loved one. I feel bad for people that have had such experiences.

i wouldn't want either but if I had to choose I would rather have a police man come to the door and tell me Because I wouldn't want to have that vision in my mind of seeing that for the rest of my life

some of these remarks make not want my child to even go to sleep at night! That scares me so much! To go into her bedroom and see her there...that would just kill me. I would seriously go crazy....

I would much rather the police find her, however, I would rather this not happen at all.
