People calling you names because of what you posted on MyLot

I just started a new discussion on the topic of breastfeeding in Public. I know it is a touchy subject for some. I stated that I have no problem with women breastfeeding in public as long as they try and cover up. Someone responded to my discussion and called me a prude. I love a good debate but I don't agree with the name calling. People should feel safe posting their opinions without the worry over people being just out right rude.

I totally agree with you!! You post something and people think they know you, I posted a one-time situation and people were telling me I was lazy, setting a bad example for my kids, etc. I think it is really rude, we don't know everyone personally and shouldn't call them names based on a few sentences that they wrote on here.

we have to be prepared to receive these remarks. we do not think and talk in the same way. since there are so many of us, we are exposed to people who had been raised in a manner which is entirely different from the way we were raised and disciplined by our parents. let us consider into account the fact that we belong to different races also. we also grow up using different languages. so let us give those others their allowances in terms of use of language so we will not be hurt so often. we are all supposed to be friends around here. but we also know that there are some friends of ours whom we can never take some liking to.

That is so true! The whole purpose of a forum or discussion board is to discuss and be able to give our opinions and exchange ideas with each other. There should be no name calling involved! I am so sorry that you had this discouraging experience.
