Have you ever been in a car accident?

Crash in the Ditch warning - Too bad the sign we went over was not as expressive as this one!

Have you ever been in a car crash? were you the driver or passenger? how long before you felt comfortable driving (or being driven) again? It has been 18 months since our son drove us home on his learning permit. The steering failed and we crashed into a ditch after going over a post (road sign) He has not had any desire to get back to driving or get his license. I think seeing his sister's bloody face put a lot of fear into him. He did not have any injury himself as the airbag worked effectively. The van was totaled as it started on fire. Another sister had a small injury as did his father. I was in the "suicide seat" and had a lot of injury but nothing too serious. It was a while before i felt comfortable getting back into the car, but necessities forced me to face my fear.

Sounds horrible, but good thing all of you are still alive. I also had experienced a car accident just last Sept 27th, 2006. That was 3 days before my birthday. Since I work nigh shift, our break at that time was at 3am. We still didn't have a canteen in our building yet, so what we do is go out and find some open stores. We were about 10 people at that time, riding in our officemate's van. He was the one driving. When we went across the highway, a car which was on heading its way from the right to the other part of the road suddenly hit us and bumped! What I could remember was I can hardly breathe! I then realized my left part of the body really hurts, so I tried to open the door to grasp some air. One officemate was hit on her head so we rushed off immediately to the nearest hospital. The rest didn't get much hurt. I didn't take time to have some check-up after the accident. I'm doing okay now and so as my officemate who was rushed to the hospital. What I can just say is that we should all be thankful that God didn't take our life that way. He still gave us another chance to live. That was 3 days before my birthday and I could ever say that was God's best gift to me on that birthday. :)

I was in a car crash a while ago, when i was a teenager. My dad had just dropped my friend back home she's been over at my house) and we were driving back to our house. He was going to drop me back off home then go play a game of squash. We were driving along and a bloke started pulling his car out of a junction. He stopped, but my dad was a bit wary so slowed down. As we approached going past the junction the other car lurched out at us and hit the left hand side/front of our car. My dad sorta saw it comeing, so lucky had slowed right down and swerved a bit, but it was still quite an impact. No one was seriously hurt, just a few bruises and whiplash mainly. The whole front of our car was crumpled right up, the bonet had kinda double over and was almost touching the windscreen, another mm or so and it would have shattered it. the other car was badly damaged too, i think both were write offs. Apparently the driver of the other car got his foot jammed between the break and accelerator, that's why he crashed into us. It was pretty scary at the time, but it didn't affect me too much with getting back into cars as i knew that it was my dads driving skills that have prevented the accident being any worse, and the crumple zone on the car had also taken most of the impact instead of us occupants.

I myself have not been in a car accident other then a little fender bender many yrs ago. But my hubby has rolled his truck down in a Collie.(fortunately he knew he couldn't save the truck and managed to jump from the truck safely). The hill was a sheet of ice. # of our sons when they were teenagers all had an accident the same weekend.none of them were hurt but they totaled off 2 cars.I almost fainted when I seen their cars sitting beside each other in the salvage yard.

I have never been in a car accident but once I was involved in a bike accident. Actually there were three persons sitting on the bike and I was in the middle. We just tried to overtake a truck from the wrong side and while we were overtaking it, it got on our side and we all fell down. That day I returned home with one hand fractured and it was a case of serious injury. After 5 days I was lying on the bed of hospital and was going for a surgery. I was very afraid at that time but now I am very well. It happened 7 months, 12 days before today's date.

Goodness! I am glad it was only your hand that was seriously injured. Good thing it was not your head! That must have been frightening. Three on a bike must have been difficult to control especial against a moving truck.
