Have any of you written fan mail to authors or actors? Before the advent of computers and email I wrote authors and they wrote me back. Elizabeth Forsythe-Hailey wrote me back a handwritten note. Catherine Cookson wrote me (she has since passed away) other authors I have written who wrote me back are Ed McBain (aka Evan Hunter - also passed), and Andrew M. Greeley. These were all personalized letters, not form letters. I have emailed Danielle Steel and Joy Fielding who have emailed me back. Since I have had computer access, I have been on the As The World Turns website which has a direct email page. Every member of the cast that I wrote to sent me back a personally signed photograph along with a letter. One actress I emailed back and told her the letter carrier folded the envelope so her picture was bent and she sent me another one! What about you? Have you written any fan mail? Did you get anything back?

Anyways i just emailed Tom Cruise and still waiting for a reply, hope he does.

Okay, you have to tell me what you said to get Orlando Bloom to send you a DVD. My 13 year old daughter is a Pirates nut! She loves those movies.

I have written to a few interesting celebrities .. mainly to compliment them on a particular play or TV role .. I have had letters back too .. and some of the celebs have passed away .. I certainly never even expected a reply let alone really nice letters with interesting insight into the celebs life ..

No, but i wrote a better to a woman who made a documentary on Amazon women! They found some remains of amazon women and found their DNS and then they were lloking if anyone living today would be a decent from these women! ANd yes, they found a girl, somewhere around Mongolia or something that she is very much like them. It was so amazing to watch and the little girl lives on mountains she has no idea about these things. It was amazing and I wrote to the lady who made this documentary and asked her a question. I wanted to know if Queen of Sheba could be an amazon woman. She wrote me back and said no. Their geographical areas are different and their life times were too distant from each other!

I did years ago when I was a young girl but I don't remember getting anything back. I think I will write the cast of Law and Order and see if they will send me a picture.

When I was younger I used to find the addresses of celebrities in the back of those teenybopper magazines and write to the stars asking to send me autographs. A lot of them did, although I don't think I still have any of them. (They were mostly Nickelodeon kid-actors.) I'm pretty sure now that they were prints and not actual autographs, but it was still fun as a little kid to get things in the mail!
