Help me please. My van went into the shop for sevicing. I had the rad flushed and the fluids all changed, she still runs hotter then I like to see and yesterday the RMPs jumped up. Of course I don't know how much from the normal idle because the venture doesn't have a tack. Could this be a computer problem, last year a dealership pulled my computer without disconnecting the bat. I also have transmission troubles, it thumps into gear only once and a while. Last year while on holiday the van started acting up. The wiring harness slipped down onto the exaust and created a lot of trouble. ON I'm on holiday again and here we go more troubles. Any ideas?

My husband said if it is running hot the head gasket might be blown. Check and see if the oil is a milky color. If it is the water from the radiator is mixing with it because of a blown head gasket. If it is not milky color you might need to change the thermostat. If the head gasket is blown and you drive it, your problems will only get bigger. You motor will be ruined.

Thank you. I had my ex-boyfriend blow the head gasket on my 85 blazer for me and didn't tell me until it over heated. Not very happy with him. I had a shop change the oil, rad fluid, trany fluid, and at the same time they did the thermostat for me. All stuff I usually do myself but I just didn't have the time. I personally am stumped and so is my father's mechanic. Again thank you and your husband for your help.
