I'm not a big fan of leftovers. I do keep them in the refrigerator for my family. I usually throw out leftovers after a couple of days.

yeah , we do not throw them away immediately, but a few days later. I think that is the reason why we buy a refrigerator.lol

Me too, I don't usually eat at home and the leftover can stay in the refrigerate for a few days, I tend to throw alway after a few days. It is a waste but can't help it. Trying very hard to cook or pack just enough for the meal. Not very successful.

Most of the time, i will eat the leftover unless it has been deterioated. If i have some rice left over, I will put it in the fridge and make a fried rice next day. I will add some curry sauce and some chicken to the rice so that i can have yummy chicken fried rice.

i put leftovers on a well covered container then sometimes in the freezer & some other foods only at the chiller . i usually reheat them the next meal or make into another dish by adding some sauce or make into soup with noodles or mix with vegetables or into fried rice . just don't let leftovers stand in room temperature for more than 6 hrs so that it won't be contaminated with any bacteria .

Bee's Hot Dog Pie Preheat oven to 400F Butter or spray Pam around the insides of a square or oval (oblong) baking dish - glass or metal. Get 2 can regular cans or one tall can of beans (vegetarian for my house, but pork and beans to others)and dump in a mixing bowl. Add 2 teas yellow or brown mustard, 1/4 cup of ketchup, 1/4 cup of brown sugar (leave out for diabetics), and 1/4 cup of EITHER Karo dark syrup, pancake syrup OR molasses. Mix well. Chop into 1 inch pieces one package of your favorite hot dogs and add to beans, coat well. Pour mixture evenly into greased baking dish. Get out 2 cups or more of leftover mashed potatoes. Add a little milk or water or 2 teas melted butter and stir well to get them unstiff, but not watery. Pour on top of hot dog mixture in the dish and spread evenly on the surface. Make little waves or poofs to decorate. Melt 1/2 cup of butter and pour over the top of potatoes. You can add chopped or dried chives OR sliced black olives on top now. Put dish on pizza pan or cookie sheet and into oven on center rack for about one-half hour or until mixture appears to be bubbling around potatoes. Everyone will love it! Great for a potluck, too!

I always put them in the frig for the next day's meal. This saves me a nite of cooking. It is a life saver, especially when your working and taking care of a family.

Well if my kids don't eat them in the night before they go to bed, I usually have them the next day as my lunch. I'm the one who eats left overs the best in our family and I don't mind it.

Yeah, i can understand your situation. Each family has such a person whao will always eat the leftovers. I take the same roll in my family.lol... I do not think this means I like eating leftovers. That means I love my family. do you agree with my interpretation?

For my family it depends on what it is. There are some things that will be eaten and some that won't. The ones that I know no one will eat I throw out. Some I keep to add to a make up dish.

I never throw them away. I'll eat them another night or maybe for lunch. Sometimes I'll make them into another dish by throwing with other different ingredients.

Good to hear that, I guess you must be good at cooking. I want to do something like what you do , But I am afraid I can not. What I can do is to put it in the micro and wait for a few minutes. that is it. a big dinner comes out. lol..

hello shenz~. well it depends on the leftover that i have.. sometimes when i really like the food and i still have a lot f leftover then i keep it in the fridge, just like you do. however if the food is not that good and i have no plans of keeping or eating it then i will throw it in the garbage or give it to the cats.

I have a 15 yr old boy who eats dinner food for breakfast and snacks (constantly!). I try to overcook for each meal, and then put things in the fridge. We have a dry erase board that I used to use for a grocery list, now I use it to mark what we have available that he can eat without having to ask. It's very helpful, because in the past he'd eat things that I was saving to make a dish with! I go through the list every few days and toss out anything that's getting old, so I have a cleaner fridge and fewer things disappear in there. Works for us!
