How much work do you do on your hair?

My Hair all curly - One of the few times my hair took over an hour to do!

I love my hair, I really do, but I do hardly anything with it 99% of the time. My general hair routine is to wash it every few days, and let it air dry. I wear a headband on most days because it's easy! I braid my hair on other days, or wear it in a clip or a ponytail. I don't put product in my hair unless it's completely frizzed out. If I'm having a really bad hair day, I'll wear it in a simple bun. That's about it for me on regular days. On special days, I love to curl my hair but usually need someone to do it for me because I'm impatient with the curling iron! However I've found I'm unique in this aspect, it seems most girls die their hair, or put product in it daily, or blow dry it daily, or use curling irons/flattening irons daily. Maybe I'm just lucky because I like my hair the way it is, but do you really think it's worth an hour every day making your hair look different? Is it worth 50$ every couple of weeks to get it died? Don't get me wrong, when my hair starts to go gray I'll get some die, but otherwise I stay far away from the stuff. So how much time do you spend on your hair and why? Is it worth it to you or do you prefer to just go au natural? Are you lazy, or do you actually like your hair the way it is? Discuss!

I admit it. I'm lazy. I'll wash it and let it air dry. I just brush it and I either wear a ponytail or down with out "fixing it up".

That's not lazy :) I honestly think some people spend way too much time on their hair. I'm pretty much like you except I never wear it down. I always at least have it half up in a hair clip OR I go the easy way and wear a headband. I have more headbands than anyone I know! One in almost every color. There's nothing easier when you are not in the mood to put your hair up.

I DO try and do something with my hair but honestly I'm not very talented at hair styling and blow drying and I find it's impossible to even resenble what the hairdresser does to my hair when I first have it cut- I sometimes wish my husband was a hairdresser just so my hair could look a bit more presentable then it does! I do dye it sometimes but I usually use a packet colour as I'm too stingy to pay for a salon colour! If my hair looks really messy I tend to just tie it back as thats nice and easy.

Yes I can't do it like the hairdresser at all - I guess that's why they have the job and I don't :) If your husband was a hairdressor, that would be interesting :-D I sometimes wish my friends and family had those type of jobs so I could save a buck on stuff like that. I know lots of people who die their hair themselves, but knowing me I'd really mess that up. Thanks for responding :)

I'm perfectly happy with my hair the way it is. I used to try to curl it when I was younger, but it never held a curl for more than an hour or so anyway, so I gave up on that a long time ago. I just wash it and let it air dry. I almost never use any kind of hair care products other than shampoo and conditioner. As soon as mine is long enough I plan on getting it cut and donating it Locks of Love to make wigs for children who have lost their hair because of illnesses such as cancer.

Yeah that's always frustrating when you spend hours curling your hair and it all is straight in a few hours. Of course, when my hairdresser does it she puts so much hair spray that it lasts through the next day! That's nice to donate it, I thought of doing that but since I'd have to grow my hair even longer than it is, I don't think I could. They say they want 10 inches, so I'd have to grow my hair 10" or 11" past my shoulders so that when it was cut it would still be shoulder length. I don't think I can do that! Oh well!

I used to not really pay much attention to my hair before..All I needed to do was wash them everyday, comb and just hang them. I don't really tie my hair that much... but recently, am experiencing some hair fall so I need to take care of my hair a bit more. I tried to minimize my shampooing to every other day and same with conditioner, then I also tried to include foods with lots of protien for my diet since it could help strengthen my hair, as what some of my friends advised me...and am observing now the amount of hair fall reduction...i hope this will be fine soon... :)

Those are good techniques to help your hair. I hope it helps! I also find it's good not to wear headbands/clips/and ponytails TOO much because my hair does start to break if I wear them daily. That's why I try to mix it up :)
