LOST TV: Desmond created a NEW FUTURE

Desmond created an alternate future by getting hit in the head at the bar. Maybe that reality will catch up and unfold to an existance where Shannon and Boone never die. Now that would be nice. But its ok if Anna Lucia stays dead. Has anyone here seen Donnie Darko or the Butterfly Effect? This whole Desmond thing makes me think of those movies - Donnie Darko being the way better of the two.
