are you ever gonna vote for a celebrity-turned-politician?

the campaigns have started for the Philippine May 2007 elections... there are a lot of celebrities on the list... actors and actresses (ie Cesar Montano, Lito Lapid etc), news anchors (ie Loren Legarda), athletes (ie Manny Pacquio)... do you think they deserve a post in the bureaucracy?

Everyone deserves a post in the bureaucracy but the question is "Are they capable?". I am from the Philippines and May 2007 elections is the first time that I will be voting. I decided not to vote actors or athletes. I am looking for a disciplinarian candidate. Filipinos are lacking such character. I was hoping Bayani Fernando of MMDA will run but he didn't. He is the perfect man for the job. Anyways, I am still working on my senatorial list.

I would vote for someone with two heads if they were competent and could actually lead my country in the right direction for once. Lately I've been wondering if random intelligent people would make better leaders than people sucked in by the political beast.

You never know, theses celebrities might do better in office then your normal politicians. I've never heard of anyone you mentiond, proably because I'm in the US. But we have had a few celebrities who have done failty well in politics. Ronald Regan, Jessie Vantura and Arnold Schwartnager. I never rellay hear anything drastically bad about them.
