hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyapathy....ever heard of it?

I was diagnosed with HOCM when I was 26. My mother has it, my aunt, and my grandmother. It's pretty serious and also known as Sudden Death Syndrome. I had open-heart surgery at the age of 30. I am now 32 and scared. I can't do normal things that other parents can do with their kids like, play tag, go hiking, any strenuous activity is absolutely forbidden. Now, consider this, I have 3 boys, ages 8 9, and 10. This does not go over well with them cause mom can't do this, and mom can't do that. I was just wondering if there was anyone else out there going through this too.
