do people prefer happiness over the truth?

would you still want to know the truth if it is gonna hurt and ruin your relationship? what if you're the one who did something wrong and would want to come out clean to start anew.. are you gonna do it if you're not sure the other person will understand?

i want to know.i think i have the right to know the truth.
and i am intreast in what he or she have done to me,as then i could decide if i could forgive it.
if he or she dont tell me the truth i will think he or she must have done something serious to me,and i will not forgive him or her.
