Cake Cake Cake!

I to love, love and just love eating cakes..!! I don't know how to bake cakes but i definitely know where to find good cakes and am always on the quest of finding delicious cakes. I don't mind spending extra money to get cakes that i love. I love going to starbucks and coffee bean not because of their coffees (though i do enjoy drinking one too) but because they make delicious cakes. Though i like eating many types of cakes, my definite favourites are blueberry cake and blueberry cheese cake as well cheese cake. I eat many kinds of cakes. Besides the ones i have mentioned above, I also enjoy carrot cakes and chocolate cakes.

In a large saucepan, combine the orange juice, sugar, and thin orange strips. Bring to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, or until a thick syrup. Strain the syrup and reserve the orange strips, along with 1/2 cup of the syrup. Use a toothpick to poke holes in the top of the cake, then pour the warm strained syrup all over the cake so that it soaks through. Pour batter into prepared cake pan and bake for 1 hour. Remove cake from oven, let cool slightly on a rack, then invert and cool completely. Meanwhile, prepare the syrup: Use a sharp paring knife to cut the orange rind off the orange used for zest and the remaining orange, leaving the bitter white pith on the orange. Cut the skin into very thin strips and reserve. Cut away and discard the white pith, remove the orange supremes, and reserve.

I'm really not a huge cake fan but every once in a while I like a good spice cake or carrot cake with cream cheese frosting! Also, one of my favorites is the Triple Chocolate Mess, made in the crock pot. Triple Chocolate Mess (crock pot) 1 package chocolate cake mix 1 pint sour cream 1 package instant chocolate pudding (any size) 1 (6 oz.) package chocolate chips 3/4 cup oil 4 eggs 1 cup water Spray crock-pot with non-stick spray. Mix all ingredients, pour into crock pot. Cook on low 6-8 hours. Do Not Lift Lid! Serve hot with ice cream.

I love cake but I hate to bake other than out of a Betty Crocker box so I don't have any recipes to share. I think I may considering taking up baking though after seeing some of the cake recipes listing here. I am sure I could get one of my kids to help me out. They enjoy baking (making a mess).

My favorites are chocolate cake, lemon cake, and tiramisu.. nothing beats a good tiramisu! I'm also all for a good piece of white wedding cake. What is it about wedding cake that makes it so good??? Oh, and German chocolate cake! Yum... I'm having a baby shower in two days and I'm looking foreward to the cake! So fluffy, so good...

i too love cakes a lot . me and myhubby buy them when we like to eat , without any reason. we love black forst the best, then i like carrot, orange ,choco chips. at present i m not having it in this laptop but i m having it in the other one, and i'll surely write it down for u.

I have a brownie cheesecake recipe that is to die for! It is so good. I posted it a week or so ago. I made it a few nights ago in a 9 X 13 cake pan and it was wonderful made in it. I think you will love this recipe.

I love red velvet cake, carrot cake, strawberry cakes the best but will take any.

I'm a big cupcake fan. My favorite is the confetti mix with vanilla sprinkle frosting or Angel food cake with strawberry shortcake topping. Yummy.
