I gave up smoking 7 weeks ago. Can anyone tell me why I feel so tired all the time since I gave up?

Since your whole metabolism changes after quitting smoking, it is no wonder you feel tired... your body needs time to adjust to the new situation. Don't give in, now, you can keep it up. Spoil yourself with a little nap, if you think it helps.... But DON'T give up (I've been there, I know what you are going through). Seven eeks is quite an achievement, the worst is over....

I think it's one of the withdrawal symptoms. I am a smoker too, but i haven't decided yet when to quit, but i would like to also.

We had a lesson about that in our Health subject and it's natural for a person who is into smoking and decided to quit to feel that way. You will really feel irritable, tired and all that because it's like you are addicted to it because of nicotine. Actually even if you will continue your habit, it would still do no good since even if you feel that you are alert, alive etc., your system is slowly being attacked by those harmful chemicals. You will really feel tired, shortness of breath so you will not be that good in sports if you continue smoking.
