Making Money with CafePress - I'm Doing It! Here's My Tips

Thought I'd share some success I've had... I'm doing rather well with CafePress. I started December 2005 with my first store. I've since opened more. I make around $200 a month, sometimes more, and made a killing in December 2006, got a check for over $600. Some months are better then others, but there is a visible increase going on. I get many sales from the CP Market search, but I do make sure all shops are listed in search engines and I market them somewhere that might bring in sales. With more marketing, no doubt I could make much more. I've got text-only shops, some shops with my illustration work, etc. My theme shops do well, shirts and the small things (stickers, buttons, magnets) sell the best. Also, be sure to take advantage of the affiliate program and opt-in your shops so others can get sales for your items - you get a large chunk. You can have free shops, but when you start making money to cover the premium shop price, switch over. You get a LOT more that way. I just started with a premium shop (your first premium shop has a 14 day free trial), it paid off within 2 months. When setting prices in your shops, keep it at the highest level (Premium). Oddly, people buy more when your prices are high. I saw a large jump in sales when I finally realized that, and of course, I make more per sale now.
