currently I ahve Windows Vista installed on my system, its cool, nice, easy to handle, the plus point of vista is its appearance and the cons that it requires atleast 1GB of RAM. The visual appearance has changed alot, the logon screen, start menu, cursors, high resolution wallpapers. And there are also some new updated programs added to it like DirectX10, .NET Framework 3, New Windows Games which have a great appearance(Solitare, Freecell, Hearts, Chess, Minesweeper, Inkball, etc) The most interesting thing I like about Vista is its new Flip-3D, It is used by pressing Win Key+Tab, instead of 2D-Window selector like in XP when we press Alt+Tab there are 3D windows tiled, thats totally awesome. Speech Recognition is also beendeveloped to recognise the user's voice and listen to commands, whrite what user says, opens programs, etc........... I enjoy using Windows Vista

Woow WIndows Vista.. what a hot subject i can say. I have talked a lot in my area with many of my friends and all of them had only positive thoughts about it. I can say that i was blow off by this new windows system. Some things certainly lack to it but this new look which Microsoft has incorporated in it certainly do the money you would give for it. I have waited this new system for 2 weeks and here i am using it. It was pretty hard for me to buy it because in my area it can't be found. So i had to ask a friend from another part of my country to order me. I am so happy using it and all i have are only words of gratitdue. I post here a short description about VISTA. Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features; some of the most significant include an updated graphical user interface (GUI) and visual style dubbed Windows Aero, improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking, audio, print, and display sub-systems. Vista also aims to increase the level of communication between machines on a home network using peer-to-peer technology, making it easier to share files and digital media between computers and devices. For developers, Vista includes version 3.0 of the .NET Framework out of the box. The .Net Framework makes it significantly easier for developers to write high-quality applications than with the traditional Windows API.

i have not yet tried it but as much as i knew about it , it has a great graphics. this will certainly good for all the graphics related applications. i work in 3d studio max and some other 3d and 2d softwares. so i am really facsinated for vista. but before installing it i will have to make some upgrades in my system . so i hope soon i will be equipped with all the necessory upgrades and also windows vista.

vista is a huge drm nightmare. the drm causes problems with the playing of most media and some hardware. vista's huge period, with a 10 gig footprint. that requires at least a 50 gig hard drive just to get out of the 'driveway'.

I am also using Vista right now and it is giving sizzling performance and has an excellent graphics as compared to XP. But to my information DirectX9.c is installed on that as DX10 is not released uptil now. Also it has more features than Xp. One such feature is Vista Aero which is very good to see. Also the security in Vista is quite better than XP. Also to install Vista there must be at least 8Gb free memory on hard disk as it takes 6.4 Gb on its installation. Also to run aero and other graphics performances there must be a graphics card or an integrated chipset giving 1.1 pixel shader. Its very exciting to work on Vista.
