should the death penalty prevail??

I just saw a blurb on CNN.com about a young man in Philadelphia who was murdered, shot seven times, over parking in someone elses spot. This sounds so barbaric and unthinkable but when I did a quick search I found that two other young men, one in NYC one in Oakland CA, were murdered for the same reason, a parking spot! Its just horrible that these young lives should be snuffed out over such a trivial offense. If I were on the jury I would certainly vote for the death penalty. What do you think you would do?
