I odn't ususually buy anything that extravagant for myself or my children but I have to say I would have had a very hard time resisting those shoes. After reading your description of them I am wondering if they have them in adult sizes. lol I would really love a pair of mickey crocs for myself. My 5 year old has hello kitty airwalks (similar to crocs but cheaper-I got them at Payless Shoesource). They are so cute!

I did once when my daughter was born shes 32 now. but the dress was $37 and out grew it in no time back than that was a lot of money. Now adays children have to have to have brand name items. You can get the same type cheaper at any store all you are doing is paying for the name. I think its outrages but who am i do judge the manufactors of items

we usually arent' a name brand people but these were cute cause they were disney ones. i don't think we have anything else name brand. i love the wal mart clothes and usually that's where we buy her clothes. i hope when she gets older she's not going to want everything name brand cause it will get very expensive.

Sometimes you just have to spurge...I hit the sale too, but sometimes it's nice to spend a little extra for something that's just too cute to resist.

All prices are going up. The price of gas is connected to everything. My daughter has large feet and it cost me well over $60 for the last pair of shoes I bought her. I must say though, if you search online you may get some good deals. Sign up for the disney website email they have specials for kids shoes.

Normally, I don't spend that much on anything, but I do have to say that I have spent too much on an outfit or two for them. I never spend much on shoes because they are always so hard on them and grow so fast. It kills me to spend over $15.00 on a pair of shoes for them...shoot, it kills me to spend over $15 on a pair of shoes for myself. LOL

me too it kills me to spend that much on myself. i'm not one to buy a lot for myself and i never buy shoes, my shoes i got for christmas a couple of years ago and they are falling apart now. i actually went into the store to look for myself. i walked out with nothing for me and $43 shoes for her.

Aren't kids shoes crazy amounts of money. I bought 2 pairs of shoes for my 1 1/2 year old this last winter. They were on sale for $30/each but they were regularly both over $90. That was so stupid. People pay it though.

I used to be in the shoe trade and I would say that there is a lot of sense in paying for GOOD shoes for your children. These would be my guidelines: Only buy good quality leather shoes Only buy shoes that are offered in half sizes as well as full sizes Only buy shoes that are available in at least 4 different widths (Otherwise you will very likely end up with shoes that don't fit well) Don't buy 'novelty' shoes unless for occasional use (sorry!) unless they meet all the above criteria. Things to look out for: Strong support around the back of the heel A good fit all round the foot - remember 'growing room' is only round the toes, nowhere else... And 'why?' you might say?? Well the tradition of 'binding' feet in China is for a reason and this reason is that growing feet can be moulded easily. If you 'mould' your childs feet with bad shoes, they will carry that effect for the rest of their lives... You may say 'why are kids shoes as expensive/more expensive than mine?' the simple answer is, it takes as much to make a quality pair of shoes in miniature as it does to make them full size...the question should actually be this: 'Why aren't I spending as much on my childs shoes as I would for myself?' I'm no longer in the trade so I have no axe to grind, but I will say this, my child has second-hand clothes and clothes from cheap stores, but she only ever gets the BEST SHOES AVAILABLE... Sorry I didn't answer your question, but I felt the point was poignant - I don't have a lot of money, but when it comes to my little one, I don't hesitate to spend $30 ($40-$50) on a pair of ('good' NOT 'fashion') shoes. Oh yes, before I forget...high heels (you call them 'pumps'??) for a child under 14? NO NO NO...oh please...

This is what every parent face and we have to adjust because of child happiness. One solution is that you have to increase your income at what I am trying

I spent $55 on shoes for my son at Stride Rite and was not happy about it. Unfortunately he has huge, fat little feet and it was the only store where I can seem to find shoes to fit him. With my 4 year old I buy shoes a Target or Payless because they get outgrown so fast. Same with my oldest daughter. It's ridiculous how retailers will soak you because they know you need the product.

Wow! I can never afford that much on my child's shoes. I would love to though! hahaha! I only get him secondhand stuff from thrift stores, yard sales, hand me down from friends, etc. Some shoes he wears only a few times before growing out of them. So, I feel it's not worthwhile for me to get him new ones. The most I've spent to date on a pair of shoes for him is $8!

I have a one year old daugther and I can totally relate to you. Everytime we go shopping, and I find something cute for my daugther, I won't even look at the price tag and I will buy it rigth away. There are times that we bougth $60 worth of clothes in one shopping.

No, I don't believe I have ever spent that much money for anything that will not last. Matter of fact, I've never spent that much money on me a pair of shoes. I paid like around $40 for my little neice some crocs for her b'day the last 2 years. But she wears them almost everyday and they have lasted and lasted. Maybe you will be able to pass these down the line and let others get some enjoyment from them as well. I guess the penny pincher in me would say, how many items of clothes could I have bought for that same money.

Yes I have indulged my children with expensive stuffs eventhough you need the money for something else. It is all base on our temptations. We like to live in denial sometimes. Trying to keep up with the Jones's. Let me advise you a way to keep your temptations at bay. The next time you come across something tempting, take a deep breadth, count to ten and walk away...... It'll just go away.. Good Luck!
