... to keep the bike upright? let say the front tire. if it blows is ther absolutely no way of staying up? how much does it depend upon your speed? i've ridden in the country for two years, but then moved to L.A., and now m thinking about riding on the freeway. Will a blowout kill you?

i've had a few blowouts and if you have any experiance you would be fine. both times my back blew highway speeds aprox. 85 mph. even if the front blew i doubt that you would spill, shift your wieght to the back of the bike, hold'er tight and SLOWLY bring it to a stop. you would be surprised how easy and not so scary it is ... good luck

make sure you take proper maintenance of your bike, keep the tire pressure at the correct pressure for the tires on your bike, and if you start seeing low treads or bare spots, get them replaced. If you blow a tire at high speeds or even moderate speeds, you will dump the bike. This doens't mean you will die, but you will get hurt. Wear a helmet and take good care of your bike, and you should be OK.
