A 4 year old was killed by a pack of dogs today morning. This is the third death in the same locality with in 2 months. Hey but lets save the dogs. This time a 4 year old child was killed. But I don't think any animal lovers care for a child. In my state these type of deaths have no longer become news because of the number of cases that are being reported. I posted a discussion on the same topic once. I am posting this to find if people still want us to save dogs instead of children.Regards

Oh heck who cares about the dogs! Save the child. Some of those animals lovers are nuts! There was a write up in our local paper this morning from a lady saying how devestated she was about Barbarion (the horse) dying, and how he was a hero and blah blah blah. Give me a break. It was a horse. I say soon as any animal shows any type of aggression towards a human, put it down. Simple as that.

Barbaro did not show any agression to humans. He was put down because of a difficult injury to his leg. It was very sad to hear that he was put down because he was an awesome horse with awesome power. As far as the dogs go, I do feel very sorry for the child, or for that matter, anyone who is attacked by an animal. I do believe that animals that are dangerous should be put down. The thing that makes me most sad is that these animals were generally raised by someone who made them that way. So what happens to those people who own these animals? Are they being charged for murder?

Oh, I know why the horse was put down. I do think people who raise dogs to be aggresive should be held accountable 100%.

I don't have any problem with people showing their affection and love towards animals but it shouldn't be at the expense of other people lives. Some animal rights are going gaga over stray dogs which is killing innocent people mostly children. If these people have a better solution everyone will welcome it. Regards

The person was not known to me either but that doesn't stop me from blaming those animal rights groups who stopped the killing of stray dogs before the incident.Regards

i am a strong dog lover but i strongly condemm this incident.this problem can be solved easily without killing the dogs.your local authority should take care of these situation and try to catch those dogs who are responsible for this.i am pretty sure they are the same lot of dogs who are responsible for all these three incidents.just catch them and your locality problem can be solved.no need to kill all your locality dogs.

Catch them and do what? I am not living in a developed country. Out of the total population three quarters live below poverty. The government can't do much about building animal shelters when they can't even provide shelter for all the countless living on the streets and below poverty line. I think you and I are living in different worlds and facing issues far different from each other. But thanks for saying what you felt.Regards

I love all the animals and if can I'll help them, but I hadn't never a pet at my home (3 turtles are pets?).I can't even thinking compare the life of a child with any kind of animals!!!!!We haven't so much dogs at the street t my country but something like this happened here to some years ago with a dog that someone had him as a pets.I suppose prefer the middle way,I mean I'm against to animal lovers as you call them but I also believe there is way to take care the animals. The government of the countries bu each one person by himself try to do the best.We must try safe not only dogs but any animas...............but never instead of children.

It's okay most westerners have trouble understanding the animal related issues which occur in our parts of the world. They try to apply the same rules as in their country. What got me very angry was when some foreigners visiting our state manhandled the workers authorized by the government for catching the dogs. These people seem to think they have a better understanding of our problems plus they think the rule of law does not apply to them.Regards

Most of the dogs that are dangerous are stray dogs. They are seen mostly in packs. We are frightful of going out in the early mornings or late night. I don't think anyone here cares about the owners of these dogs because most of them don't have one. Most of the dogs are in their second or third generation of street life. I don't think saving the dogs is no longer possible because there are too many stray dogs and the Government don't even have enough money to give a better life or security to the majority of the people living here. How could someone be more caring about a dog than a childs life? i mean. yes you love your dog so much and you it to be safe too but you should also not forget that an animal is an animal. you dont have control over its emotions. they can be cute and friendly at times but they could also hurt humans. If you really love your dog then youll have to be very responsible to it. be sure that it is well taken cared off and doesnt hurt anyone. And this thing goes to parents aswell. you have all the responsibility to take care of your children. you should always keep them away from harm. bacause you cant blame the dogs if ever the same thing happens to your child.

i have also experienced being bitten by a dog and it was a mess because of all the blood that was flowing from the wound. When you look at the blood, it had traces of the dog's saliva. i had to go to the hospital to be injected for anti-rabies. i have to go back to the hospital a couple of times for the succeeding shots. it was laborious, and even tiring at times but i have to go to make sure. Once a dog bites, it cannot be killed instantly coz the dog has to be observed for a week for any signs of hydrophobia. if it has, then it has to be killed and the head decapitated for hospital examination. Luckily for me, the dog that bit me had no rabies.

My uncle also got bite by a stray dog. We had to wait a long time in the hospital because the number of dog bite cases are on the rise and the amount of medicines available remain the same. Luckily he is okay now. Since it was a stray dog we couldn't check on it. Most probably the dog probably didn't have rabies. I am glad you are okay. By the welcome to mylot. Enjoy your time here. That is terribly sad. The poor little child. That must be a horrific way to die. They need to increase the penalties for these dog attacks. Owners are getting off scott free and its just not right. Something has to be done.

There are no owners to punish. These attacks are done by packs of stray dogs. But in my opinion the animal rights group who stopped the killing of stray dogs even after a court order asking the Government to do the same, is to charged. They should not be allowed to go scot free. If you can't help please don't stop others who are trying to help. This lesson should be thought to them. Regards

Shoot the owners not the dog! No bad dogs only bad owners! Of course too late in the case of this particular dog which perhaps must be destroyed all the best urban

of course people's lives are most important than any other animal. we should save the lives of the people first before animals. i know we should love animals but if things like this we should save lives first and second is the animals. i heard about happenings like this, people who have this pets should take the responsibility so that their dogs wont harm any strangers. they should take extra precuations.

I guess the thing that bothers me the most about this is that someone will abuse an animal and get a stiffer sentence than someone who abuses a child. Does this make sense to you? The dog and the child are both incapable of defending themselves against those who are bigger and more powerful than them. If you look at the history of child abuse, the first child abuse case was fought and won under laws for animals who were abused. We live in a society that does not value the child or childhood or the protection of our children who happen to be our most vulnerable natural resource. It just doesn't make sense to me.

I don't mind people caring about dogs. But I surely don't like when they try to value a dog's life above a humans life. That is the most common occurrence here.Regards

When the authorities tried to take some steps the animal rights group opposed them. Even now when the court has ruled in favour of the authorities, the animal rights activists are stopping the Government action to tackle the menace of stray dogs. Regards

Parents should take most responsible for this icident . If dogs has owner ,they are most responsible . if strays dogs ,goverment is the most responsible . there is no responsible for dog since we human are very much intelligent than dogs .

Most dog bite victims come from very poor families. Besides most of the time children are bitten by stray dogs when they are playing. You can't stop children from playing in their own neighborhood. The dog's that bite people to their deaths are stray. So you can't punish their owners since they have no owner. Regards

That is bologna because you can replace a dog but you can not replace a child. I think these people need to wake up and smell the coffee. What is more important a dog or a child. To me a dog is part of responsible but you dont give birth to a dog. You gave birth to children. I would choose to try and save the child and let the dog die. Because if i was in the situation. I would go after the adults.

what kind of dog was it? I always hear its sometimes a pitbulls. Its sad to see any dog kills a child and the dog should be tied up but if attacks or kills a humans they should be put to sleep but thats my opinion.

its pathetic to know that a four year child was killed by street dogs.even today the same type of killing has taken place in bangalore. i have feeling for dogs but i dont think it is correct on our part to fight for them to rome in the streets.iam also a victim of this street dogs bcoz while iam doing my regular walking in road i face tough time with these street dogs.i suggest the government should take steps to keep this dogs indoors with proper feeding.
