I personally like charmin, now my plumbing on the other hand can't handle it. So now I have to use Aloft which is a grocery store generic brand, but it's really not that bad.

Sounds like you are trying to convince yourself that the store brand is "not that bad" :)

Take your own nice soft paper when traveling in the less, shall we say, advanced countries when it comes to these matters.

the worst toilet paper experience I had was in Spain, it was like the better stuff was like the brown paper towels we dry our hands with (only thinner) the worst kind was more like it was paper towels married with sandpaper. owie!

Yeah you got me there. But it's still not as bad as the toliet paper you find in like schools and store bathrooms.

I find Scott too thin and abrasive personally. I use Cottonelle Double Roll with Aloe or Angel Soft double rolls. It has to be soft for my tooshie !!

I like cottonelle but there again it clogs my toliet. Not as bad as charmin, but close. Angel soft I do like. Good price as well as the comfort. Thanks for the response.

I like angel soft too, but for some reason we seem to go though it faster than the other brands. Maybe it's just in my head...who knows. Thanks for the reply.

We usually buy Scott or Marcal as that gives us the most for our money. Recently there was a great sale on Charmin (20 rolls) so I picked some up. oh, it really is "Squuezibly soft" my Whipple was right! thanks for the warning about the plumbing - we usually throw the paper away rather than flush it, in order to save on the septic/sewer

Yeah I would rather for go comfort so that I don't have issues with the septic. And that cheap brand I found is almost like angelsoft. Granted it's no Charmin, but it'll do.

Charmin because it is soft and doesn't make your buttocks sore, unlike the cheap generic brand toilet paper. I like Charmin because it has layers. Cheap toilet paper is fragile and breaks easily.

Yeah I do find myself honeycombing more so that what's supposed to be on the paper stays on the paper.

I faithfully use Scott toilet paper. Other kinds seem to always clog my toilet, so I just stick with Scott because the texture is just right...not too hard, not too soft (ha, I sound like the Three Little Bears now.) Softer brands suck; Using 3-4 sheets is equivalent to shoving 2 napkins down your toilet damn near. Not good!

I have the same problem with the softer brands. Where I live Scott is rather expensive. It costs more than charmin. Which I can't understand, but it is still just toliet paper. Thanks for the response! Happy wiping.
