How do they make lipstick?

My eight year old daughter would like to know how they make lipstick. And once again she's got me. Gotta love those questions that leave you scratching your head and saying you know what sweetheart I don't have a clue. So could I get a little help on this so I don't look like the dumb mom. Because aren't we supposed to know the answers to everything?!
