their babies are so small

I have two shitzu dogs and they gave birth two weeks ago. I feel that their babies are just too small. Is it okey to send them to the vet for a check up? or is too early? I don't want to separate them from their mom while they're still breatfeeding. Everytime I check on her pups she makes this puppy sound as if she's crying. help!

Why not just ask your vet to make a home visit?? So that the vet can also take a look at the health condition of the dam (mother).

If your worried take them to the vet. Take the mom too.

Small dogs have small puppies.
If you are that concerned however, pack momma and babies in a box, with lots of towels or a blanket to keep them warm, and take them all to the vet.
The noise she is making is probably just her being nervous, is she a first time mom? She is just being protective of them, which is normal.

Why not ring the vet and ask for their advice. They will be able to tell you over th e phone if you should bring them in. You could take them all in together if need be and that way they will not be seperated but I'm sure your vet would rather yu rang then left it.
