Extreme piercings...what is too much?

Now I dont want everyone to start yelling at me. I don't mind people that have piercings. But when is it taking it too far? I have 3 holes in my left ear and 2 in my right I've also had my eyebrow pierced not once but twice (although I dont have it now!) I also at one time had my nose pierced. I had a friend send me an email today which had a bunch of pictures of people with extreme piercings. I picked the most horrid picture out of the bunch and attached it to this discussion. I just don't understand why people want to do this to themselves and what are they gonna do when they are old and gray and have hoops and rings hanging out of everything on their body? Am I the only one who feels this way? Do you know someone with extreme piercings? What do their employers think of this? Do they even have a job? I"m just curious on everyones opinion on this topic.

I think the guy in your picture has way too many piercings, but I am a fan of some facial piercings. My fiance has his labret pierced (along with two earrings in each earlobe and an industrial), and I think the labret is a very attractive piercing on him. Our old roommate had three lip rings at one point, and we liked to tease her about all of her piercings (she had more than 10 total). Personally, I only have one facial piercing, and that's my nostril. I plan on keeping it when I'm older, because I think it will still be fun to have a little glittery spot on my nostril.

Its getting to the point where some of this is just self-multilation and mental illness disguised as fashion. They are trying to say it is fashion. Cultures who have piercing, have them for social and culture purposes. They've done this for hundreds of years. Some of these people have some other mental things going on with them. I truly believe that they do. Some of these people are so stupid that you could lead them to do anything. If someone convinced me to stick a needle in my eyebrow and then think that I cute, I would know then that I've crossed the line to insanity.

Ew! I don't know if I could even hold a conversation with that person. All of the piercings would be very distracting and I would have a hard time remembering to look him in the eye. I only have my ears pierced but I am sure it would be more difficult to land a job with a look like that. It is highly unlikely you could work somewhere that serves children because most of the children I know would be frightened by all those piercings. But hey, to each his own and there are worse things I suppose.

Really, I think it's a matter of personal taste. Frankly, most piercings really disgust me, and I will never pierce anything other than my ears, but that's just me. I think most of the extreme piercings are done simply because of the reaction they get from other people. The way I see it, giving them the reaction they're seeking is really just the same as encouraging them to do it, so I just ignore it.

I think the ears have business being pierced, and possibly belly button. At my work, nose piercings have to be taken out or covered with a bandaid. Tongue rings are not allowed, although, people sneak. My son has his tongue pierced and he wanted me to go with him. I'm kind of glad because I seen the "ouch" when it happened. Luckily, he had no problems. My friend has her belly button pierced, and I think that's okay.

I reckon they look pretyty cool, in the past ten years or so I've worked it out at just over 50 piercings. The only problem I have with the guy in the picture is his bridge piercing. it's wonky!

I honestly do not mind piercings. I am more favorable toward piercings than tattoos. I see it this way... Piercings you can take out. Tattoos are there for good. I have 5 piercings. Two in my lip, 1 in my tongue, and my ears. My friend however, has 21? piercings. I think he looks great with them. All but 4 of these piercings are on his face, and I think he still looks great. It is all a matter of opinion. He doesn't have surface piercings though. I do think those are disgusting.

I have 9 percings and none are in my ears and I think that in many ways percings are better then tattoos because you can take a percing out and they heal closed you can never take a tattoo 100% away... I dont mind percings at all...
