How does Unconditional Love work in a relationship, when one partner does not feel appreciated?

I believe uncoditional love to be a goal to be strived for, something in the order of perfection, always elusive, always there, but very, very difficult to attain. There have been, in my opinion, only a handful of people in mankind's history (people like Jesus Christ or Gotama Buddha) who reached that stage in human evolution. That's why we keep talking and writing about them.

Hi,i'm going to take a christian point of view with this one. We've been commanded to love one another and to lay our lives down for our friends (in the bible; John 14:9-13). So I'd say love the person unconditionally. About the appreciation, look at your expectations of your partner. Might they be unreasonable or unrealistic? Not everyone expresses love the same way. Also, speak to your partner about their method of expressing love to you and what you'd like. Love yourself and though love should be unconditional, love is a choice you make. Hope I've helped. take care.
