Think of as many words as you can in Elvish, either Quenya or Sindarin. What is the first Elvish word that pops into your head? The second? The third? If you didn't know any Elvish words before seeing this thread, then please don't respond with some! I am dying to know the most commonly known Elvish words.

The only ones I know are from Namariƫ, from the Lord of the Rings. I think it goes like this (probably missed some, but I remember this after hearing a recording by Tolkien himself!). I don't know if this is Sindarin or Quenya (would bet it's Quenya, because it has a very "open" sonority). As what they mean... I can recall something about golden leafs: "Ah, lauri lantar lassi surinen" And "Akkalabeth", the Fallen, "EƤ", Earth, "Mor", Dark (from Morgoth and Mordor). I knew lots of them when I was younger. Maybe I'll return to memorize it from the free courses on the web.
