yes this is the poblem i am facing. actually my five year old son has no company unfortunately where we live hardly few kids are there and that too not of his age . ofcourse being the only one he is pampered. so we try to bring him everything he wants. he now a days play video games and involve us too . we play for hours and hours till he gets bored. though we know that its wrong for his development but what to do? i myself is teacher and know that its wrong but how can i divert him im failed to understand. hes too small to be send to playgrounds to play servants again are dangered species as they can spoil his language if he remains in their company. so please give me your precious suggestions.

I don't find it wrong to play video games with ur kids.. it boosts their confidence if u play with them, coz u wud never want ur child to loose, and if he's winning, he will feel proud of himself.. So, it encourages kids to perform better, even better than their parents...

I feel that playing video games and too much television can be a bad thing for young children. Reading books and playing with conventional toys can be more beneficial. Reading in particular is vital for a child's development and understanding of language. Can I suggest you spend a little more time reading with your child and less time staring at a screen.

I don't think this is wrong. We call this quality time with family. ;-) By playing video games with your child, his bond with you will be stronger. You also have a "common interest" and this will help him open up to you more.
