Why not "Husband and WIFE"? or "MAN and woman"? I never made some research about this but some analysis were conducted. MAN as a "first gender" carries an impression to more powerful than others. He is "first"...meaning number 1 (one). In my point of view 1 as a number, compliments along with too many functions and extensive use in too many processes. A number multiplied or divided with 1 doesn't change anything. I can say that Man as equated to number 1, Is a more stable being. Man is more firmed with their decision, unlike women who frequently changes their minds, man think of stability rather what is critical. In Math if you ADD 1 to other number, the value will be incremented. If you subtract 1, it will do otherwise. May be man doesn't want to get married yet because they are afaid that they are not stable. But those stabled man (great job, can provide whatever his family will need)can easily get into marriage. STABILITY.... I may conclude in MARRIAGE, MAN is pronounce first to give respect to the IDEA of being the first gender plus the power he have being a MAN. Maybe the church loves the woman and doesn't want to ignore the power of woman. Yes woman as a "second gender" is defined to be man's subordinate. They think of critical things..they have too many what if's... beyond man's what if's. Woman is not stable when it comes to decision. (but not all of them). Woman's greatest strength is to be a mother to her child, to be a wife to her husband. Being a WIFE, is a power that a man cannot fathom. A WIFE a carries passion within, they want to please their man, they do the chores, they carry mans weakness, they are not afraid to cry and release all their burden...they are able to manage their time for their family and work....as mom...as WIFE. Maybe the church don't want to put boundaries between man and woman. Man's strength and (plus)woman's strength is more powerful when combined. Maybe to keep the balance and promote the strength of both genders, the church had decided to have this phrase un every marriage they handled..."May i announce you MAN and WIFE."

i've never thought of that before. I guess, the two were alphabetically arranged. Since M is in the middle of A-Z, and W is three letters away from Z, it is logical to say ...man and wife. if husband is used, it will just show that man is way ahead of the woman or wife. I guess the word "man" strikes a balance between the husband and wife. Lol. Kidding aside, history and the bible say men are providers, while women are breeders. lol. But other women, especially in the Pacific, complement their men. They both toil and labor. It was only latest century when England put into existence the prim and proper lady whose hands shouldn't be roughened by hard work. But now it's changing back. Women and men both work to build a family. Men have as much accountability as the wives in raising their kids, which I doubt. Children are still looking to their mothers to care for them. Mothers take all the blame, while fathers get around. Maybe educating both the children and husbands will help them realize that mothers work and still care.

What should we be remembered for? Let us for a moment pause to reflect what it is that for which we would like to be remembered for by future generations. Will we be remembered for how many mosques our generation has added, will we be remembered for how many temples our generation has added or will we be remembered for how many gurudwaras our generation has added? No, not at all. We will be remembered only if we give to our younger generation a prosperous and safe Nation, resulting out of economic prosperity coupled with civilisational heritage.
