A big friends list on mylot means nothing

I see people bragging about their "big friends list" but pardon me for saying this..this means nothing..absolutely nothing..I wont boast here and talk of my hundreds. .. When it all boils down to it...friends are those who take time to respond to your discussions..when they can..
I have been trying to respond to discussions that friends start but when I start a discussion ..I don't see any of my friends..hardly..boo hoo..coming to talk with me..
I wonder..did they become my friend just to get me to post when they start a friend..
If you are no longer my friend delete me from your list..and it will help me from sifting through so many names to respond to!!!!

Yes you are right and even me faced the same kind of problem and even i posted a discussion on it and i got some responses like that only and i think it ll be a disappointing one for our friends and most of them are not aware of how to discuss the topic of our friends or so they are still a begginers and we have send the message how to answer the discussion which we have posted then only they ll do it or else they start what ever is their in their home page.

I hate to think that those on my friends list are just nice pictures or avatars looking at me and saying haha..you are my friend but I am not talking with you;)

I think you are correct in saying invitation for friends are just to start a friend. As I remember when myLot started, there were notion that having more friends in your list could mean more earnings, so the members do invite a lot to join their list and earn.

Really I dont know what it means..
I have a friend who even had emailed me..but now he even seems to have gotten to involved with his own scheme...
I try though to be a friend to all..Not wanting a giant friend list though
I try to even go to the no response list..and respond there..

I don't see the reason why you are so pissed of because of it. You need friends here to increase your earnings. The only thing you need to do that is to post a lot of good respones, upload photos, and some good refferals. I don't care who is responding to my discussions, but I know that there are some of my friends that do that constantly. When I respond to their discussion, they enter to my profile, and respond to my discussions. Sort of like 'Give and take' system.

I really dont care for you language..I never once asked to be a friend..I have had 300 plus requests to be my friend..and my question is legite..why does someone ask to be my friend .what is the purpose..is it simply to read what I write..and I am shocked at your vulgar response!

there is no meaning of this and all.
but one thing that anyone add to others when they likes him in any manner, imean it might me attitude, by behaviour and so on..
but there are so many who not sdoing anything just adding friend and showing talent that i have this much of friendlist...
any way its not a big issue right

I've had many friend requests. I simply delete them! I know that If I accept them that I will NEVER respond to their discussions. I'm on here casually and simply wouldn't have time to respond to so many people. And I know that most people just want to make as many friends....PEOPLE this is NOT MYSPACE.....!!!!

Well friend list grows when we start accepting everyones request for becoming friends. Once I thought to answer those from the friends list whom I have never answered but all the discussions were beyond my understanding so even if I want to help other friend it is simply not possible.

I have never blamed my myLot friends they are busy at some things else or they are learning. If there is a little good contact, it is better than nothing as you said. I can make only 10 responds and go back to check at my posts, my computer system is very slow, because the internet line is slow I have only 38-52Kps(Dial up line).
I have tried to respond to my friends as many as I can, it is like saying relatives don’t visit each other is like the other normal people. Please give your friends’ time to go back to think and reply to you.

in my own opinion, i do not expect my friends to reply in my posts, i let them decide if they want to or not,.
just because they do not reply from your post it means they are not your friends?
as long as they are on my friends list..still they are my friends, wether they respond or not...
i choose when or waht to respond, so i know they understand me too.

i am so sorry to hear that. i have good friends on my list and we all try to answer the discussions. sometimes its not possible, because we have nothing to say to that discussion, but normally i try to answer all of my friends. its the first what i do when i log in, to check what my friends have to say and how they feel. sometimes we all need a support and thats the way to see if its needed.

Hey, franciscan, I'm one with you and I absolutely agreed with you 100%. I hated seeing this list of avatar in my list too. They are just that, an avatar. While I'm trying to bang my brain to give some sensible reaponses, others on my list just didn't have the decency to bang their brain too to respond to mine. I realized that I'm wasting my precious time participating in their discussions. LOL...its really time to delete them. Happy posting.

I have so many and now I must take time to delete and this will be a very painful but necessary process..I don't want friends who are simply sitting there smiling..saying I am your friend..but not going to talk on your discussions;)

I have one friend on my friends list I looked at her discussions I think they are boring and if they don't interest me and I don't think I have any value to put in it I won't post, but we have been friends for years she knows how am and what types of things I like. Sometimes you can't post on every ones thing, and I think you should only respond to the ones that you can contribute valuable feed back too... I'm sure your friends won't mind but then again...its all good.

I just don't know what makes some people ask to be your friends..I don't usually ask to me if I can be a friend ..I know it means I will commit my time to answering their topics..and I dont want to promise something I can't deliver or attempt to do at least some of the time:)

Responding to everyone that has asked to be your friend is almost an impossible task. When people respond to our discussions it is just a matter of looking at thier response and we can see what kind of friend they are or going to be. Having friends linked to the email system gives us a good indication of thier responses and postings that create good threads to those discussions.

I have 175 friends and only have an adverage of 10 replies to each of my discussions, so I too sometimes wonder what the other 165 are doing? lol
It would be impossable for me to reply to all the discussions which my friends start. but i do try to get to each of my friends at least once a week and go through the discussions which they have started and I hope that they will be doing the same.

I know what you mean. I try to answer as many interesting discussions that my friends posted every day. But since I only get on here a few hours I don't get too answer more than probably 10 topics. I also answered discussions with no responses since there are so many of them, plus I comment some responses on my discussions

Here here! I don't see what the point of adding people to your friends list if you're not going to communicate with them and post on their discussions. I could understand not posting on every discussion since you might not know anything about it or you might not have an opinion on the topic. But if every discussion of theirs is like that then why did you add them in the first place?
I'm trying to keep mine geared only to posters I know off of MyLot and people whose discussions I visit frequently and share interests with. Isn't that what the list should be used for?
