You need to start discussions and respond to them as well. But its not the number of discussions that you start, its the number of responses you get to your discussions. So make them good. Dont give single word answers to other peoples discussions. The more detail you give to your discussion and responses the better. KEY is make good discussions over all. You can get money from Mylot by quality postings, making comments on others responses, posting new topics here. Always remeber that at least 4-5 lines responses should be there. Only in yes or no or thank is not enough. Such responses are cut here.

By starting discussions like this, rating the replies, posting replies for other discussions, u earn money. A good poster can supposedly post upto 40 posts a day, earn a dollar a day (Your rating is important for this. If u refer others, u can earn on their earnings also. In the long term u can hope to earn something like $10 a day, if u have enough active referrals.

Just try to start some discussion topic by yourself and at the same time u shoudl post reply to someone's topic. If u receive huge response from other people, u will earn more.
