divert her attention to some other things aside from food. encourage her to hang out with friends and also be there for her to talk to when she needs someone to cry and lean on or better of change her boyfriend--who knows he may not be worth it if they quarrel too much. or better of to love herself and to stop being emotional abused by someone else.

basically with the drangement in othere receptors, there is also derangment ibn 5-HT receptors, which is responsible for hunger.

They eat a lot because they feel like they have to make them selves feel better by gratifying the primary need for eating, since eating is comforting and when you eat specially the ones you like- it makes you feel better already. And it is commonly suggested to eat chocolates when your depressed because chocolates have enzymes that help your body release "feel good" hormones such as serotonin. how can you stop her?... maybe you can try to tell her not to eat to much because she's getting huge and is she does get any bigger than what she already is, she might lose the opportunity of having a better bf in her life, besides- she should look out for her health and tell her not to let her current boyfriend affect her that much, you and your family will always be there for her..

I think food is a comfort thing, your food won't judge you. but i think that is why alot of kids are finding theirselves obese these days. They use food to comfort theirselves. Or their parents reward them with icecream, pizza.
