How many children make an ideal family?

I was just wondering what everyone else's opinions were on this. How many kids do you have? How many kids do you want? What makes you choose that specific number?

This seriously has to be the second most asked question on here... My answer....how ever many you feel like having and can afford to. I have one and we are planning on adding 3-4 more in the coming years, either by birth or adoption. But if we can only afford one then we won't have anymore. Thats selfish to have 12 kids and only can afford to have a goldfish.

I have 7 Children and another one coming in Aug making a total of 8. I felt inside myself I wanted to have this number of children and really glad I did.

Well, my husband and I have one 15 month old son, baby #2 is due Oct.2nd and total I would like to have 4 (my husband is more of thinking 3). The reason I would like 4 instead of 3 is because I think that it would be nice to have an even number of kids, that way they would each have a buddy when we went to an amusement park or anywhere else you need a partner. Plus, I just love kids and think the more the better (within reason)

One would have been fine, but I have two and it's nice because there is an age gap. Mine are both boys, and it would have been nice to have one of each, but not a big enough deal to try for a 3rd.

At Present I have Only One Kid and I want to limit to one for now (May or May not) in Future. I dont have interest in another because my family is big and I dont want to share my Love to many but to my only son.

In my opinion, I would say two kids. I say this because I have always wanted a boy and a girl . I have both now:) so I am very happy.

Before my wife and I got married we discussed the number of children we wanted. I wanted 2 and she wanted 4. We agree on 3. We have 2 children because we also agreed not to have more children than we could afford and be able to do things with them, like go on vacations, do activities like skiing, snowboarding, camping, travel, etc. We have been able to do that and also we have been able to help them with their college education. So, my advice is to have as many as you can afford and want to take care of.

It actually depends on the parents. Usually if they are rich then they can afford even how many children they want. As for the poor family it depends on how much they can invest to their child. We're two in our family. We did experience financial problems but it wasn't a worst case scenario. My parents didn't had much problem disciplining us because we're only two it's easier for them to take care of us.
