I just sponsored my first person. They haven't become active yet. i tried to send them a personal message on myLot to encourage them to become active, but couldn't because she hasn't yet accepted me as a friend. It seems we should be able to send messages to people who aren't on our friend list. How can i suggest this change?

I too have tried to send messages and leave comments on photos but because the person wasn't on my friends list I was unable to do this. You could try sending an email to myLot to see if they will implement some sort of a system where we could contact members who are not on our list.

I have had the same problem. I suppose if we got a lot of support from other MY Lot members, then the admin may consider changing the script to allow for this.
There doesn't seem to be any way of encouraging new members, unless they become a "friend".

The reason you can't send messages to anyone who is not a friend is to cut back on spam. I really don't think they'll change this policy anytime soon. At least I really, REALLY hope they won't. It would be nice to be able to send messages to people, but I don't want the tons of spam that would come along with it. I get enough spam already!

Congratulations that is great I hope that they will do the work on here so as to help you with your earnings, yes I think that we should be able to send messages to members that are not on our friends list yet as well. I would like to wish you good luck though and hopefully everything will work out for you with your referral.

Wow congratulations! I don't have any referrals yet but hoping that will change. I have heard many people say they get referrals but then they are not active - I think sometime people just sign up to check it out and then forget they did. I have to admit I've done that myself.
I would say if you want to suggest a change you use the "contact" link at the bottom of the pages but I would prefer not having this because I don't really want to have a million messages from people I have no connection with. I do think we should be able to message the people we refer to the system though. Most programs offer that feature.

Congratulations on your first referral. Like the others have said, you may want to try and contact mylot. However, my advice, move on. You will see a lot of that. People who sign up and never post. Or post a few and then never come back. It might be easier to get new ones than to resurect the old ones. I have 82 referrals and only about half are active. I just ignore the ones that aren't and focus on the ones that are. And focus on getting more.
