Why does is our ambition a cause of failure?

I think because this leads us to act without thinking it out thoroughly first. When we get excited, we jump in with both feet without properly testing the waters first. This often leads us to creating unattainable goals that are unrealistic, but we don't realize this until we have wasted time and/or money. It also lease to failure because of the process we most often go through called trial by error. Meaning we will attempt to reach our goal by one way...then find out it doesn't work...then try another way with the same results until we find the way that works.
