For you Women!! What Do you Do if you Have to Visit a Public Bathroom?

If you have to visit a public bathroom, you usually find a line of women, so you smile politely and take your place. Every stall is occupied. Finally, a door opens and you dash in, nearly knocking down the woman leaving the stall. You get in to find the door won't latch. It doesn't matter the wait has been so long you are about to wet your pants! The dispenser for the modern "seat cover" is handy, but empty. You would hang your purse on the door hook, if there was one, but there isn't- so you carefully, but quickly drape it around your neck. To take your mind off your trembling thighs, you reach for what you discover to be the empty toilet paper dispenser. In your mind, you can hear your mother's voice saying, "Honey, if you have tried to clean the seat, you would have KNOWN there was not toilet paper" Your tighs shake more. So, What will you do now? Can you deal with a public restroom? (rest???)

sometimes, such a trick works. but there are really bad days when all restroom cubicles have no toilet papers available. and such days are really annoying!

LOL oh yes, I recognize this scenario :) Well I dont worry much about the door, take the pack of Kleenex that that I have in my purse, hang the purse around the seat cover dispenser if it works or around my neck if it doesnt, dont completely sit on the toilette and go about my business. I use to fret over the door and this and that, but hey not much anymore. Im there to do something I do it and get out of there. Now what really bothers me is when the person before me completely forgot what the flush button is for. One would think that its something you do automatically but unfortunately that is not the case grrrrrr

haha! this is a scary situation. but i say, this is usually true since i myself have experienced this before. no hook for my bag, and the lock was not functioning at all and no tissue available. i wanted to get out and go to the next door. but the line's too long and i could no longer wait. what i did was put my bag on my lap, and did it without touching the toilet seat. i tried to search in my bag if i have tissues left. luckily, i have some mc donald's tissue paper which i took after having snacks at the said fastfood chain. it was like a disaster! and since then, i always bring a small box of toilet paper inside my bag. better be prepared than be sorry!

Hi MC, Calm down, now. I know when it comes to potty issues, it gets sticky. I hear you. Usually all those things do not happen at once unless you are at one of those rest stops. Since we know it can happen the best thing for all of us to do is to keep tissue in our purse. If you are really in a hurry and do not have time to clean the seat and you sit down on it anyway and there is a sudden splash, when you get home take a shower. If you don't have to go real bad just ask someone to hand you toilet paper. If nobody will give you toilet paper, tell them that is one less toilet they will have to use because you are not coming out until someone gives you some.

I almost never use public restrooms. If I do, I am picky on the ones I use. I need to know that place. I always carry kleenex with me, so running out of paper is not an issue with me. I was taught to never, ever, sit on a public seat, so seat covers aren't an issue for me. When I am out, I drink very little liquids, so the need to go is lessened.

This sounds like MOST public toilets in my country! LOL. We make it a habit to bring tissue, hand sanitizer and other toiletries in our bags. We've even perfected the art of "sitting" without actually letting our thighs touch the toilet seat while pushing the (unlatched) door and draping our shoulder bag around our neck. Of course it helps if your friend is with you. It's a simple matter to just let her hold your bag and watch the door while you're inside. Then your only problem would be how to sit. Then when it's her turn you do the same to her. That's another reason for ladies to go to the bathroom in pairs/group. LOL

Balance yourself without touching the seat as you go. Keep the purse on your arm or neck with one hand on the door to keep closed. Some women are nice enough to hold the door for you also. I have always keep tissues or something in my purse so the TP thing is not a problem. And yes, this kind of thing has happened to me as I am sure it does to most women.
