What does being a Christian mean to you?

Being a Christian means many things to me but today I read the followning verses and it got me thinking about several debates concerning being a Christian. Not within myself but I've heard others.
John 10:25-30 Jesus answered them, "I've told you, but you don't believe me. The things that I do in my Father's name testify on my behalf. However, you don't believe because you're not my sheep. My sheep respond to my voice, and I know who they are. They follow me, and I give them eternal life. They will never be lost, and no one will tear them away from me. My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than everyone else, and no one can tear them away from my Father. The Father and I are one."
To me these verses touched on salvation, Christian living, trust in God the Father, and a part of the Trinity.
What are your thoughts, do these scriptures say anything in particular to you? Can you see the important topics Jesus mentioned here?

I love the scriptures. They always give me peace and comfort when I am going through trials on this earth.
To Me, being a Christian means that I try to live my life so that others will want to know Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. I try to do this on a daily basis. I know that I make mistakes but because of the sacrafice of Jesus Christ, I can repent, be forgiven and try to do better. I know that it is an ongoing battle to try to do better. I love the Savior and I owe him so much that I will never be able to repay him. Being a Christian means that I try to love and be compassionate toward everyone. I try to take care of them and lighten their load while uplifting them because this is what Heavenly Father wants me to do.

Oh yeah, Jesus did have people who would not believe him. He had people who hated him enough to cut his side while he was already in pain. I like to think that I would have believed him but we never really know if we would have or not.

"I've told you, but you don't believe me. The things that I do in my Father's name testify on my behalf. However, you don't believe because you're not my sheep." This part really hit me, I get frustrated sometimes when trying to share God's Word with others. Even Jesus had "difficult" people to deal with.

To me, I can say I'm a christian which means I know the bible, the rules, go through all the motions on the day of choice (Saturday,Sunday, Wendnesday night, etc) but still continue to live my life as I choose to live it.
I however have chosen to LIVE a (christian)Christl-like life. Meaning, I'm going to take his words and apply them into my life. I'm going to not only know the rules, the in's-the out's but I'm also going to do them. It's always my prayer that I don't have to tell anyone that I'm a christian, I prya they will be able to see it through my actions.

LOL thought my eyes were going goofy on me up above :)
Another scripture I think means alot.
Matthew 4:3-4 The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread."
Jesus answered, "Scripture says, 'A person cannot live on bread alone but on every word that God speaks.'"

To me these verses tells me a lot about my salvation. I know I have hope and I will be with my savior when Jesus comes for his people. I have trust in my God and I know he is with me and will give me eternal life.

being a christian means i am saved and have a new life in Jesus Christ... also, it means i always have somebody who will always look after and protect wherever i am... most importantly, being a christian means i have an eternal life which i will spend forever with Him in heaven when i meet Him face to face later on during His second coming...

It means so many things to me. It means hope, comfort, love, eternal life, faith, among many other things. I didn't really become a Christian until later in life even though I believed in Christ. I didn't really have a personal relationship with him and didn't live my life as a Christian. He has made such a difference in my life. When people ask how I know there is a God, I sometimes have a hard time explaining it but you just know when you know Him.

Yes being a Christianian what it means to me is firstly believeing in Christ, his work and what he expects of us. I do believe in the Lord and what he has done I do not go to church any more but I do always pray to him, and follow his teaching and that way I believe I am a Christian.

A lot of people never understand the meaning of how it is to be a TRUE christian. They always questioned the validity and authenticity of every words written in the holy bible. When I make a slight mistake, I pray for forgivenes. When I spank my children, I pray for forgiveness. When one of my discussion generated a lot of responses, I thank God for His help, for giving me the wisdom to post good sensible discussion. Little things, big things, I always share it with God. I don't have to be a hypocrite to preach about all the things God did for me. I consider my spiritual relationship with God as a personal things, shared between me and God. I still make a lot of mistake in my life. But by opening my heart and soul to God, I was more aware of what I'm doing. Problems, natural disasters and illnesses happened for a lot of reasons. But wih God in our presence, we will always have the strength to face all this trials. Because I believe that God will reserve a special place in heaven for all of us who believe and follow His ways. God bless you.

I think you need to be saved to be a Christian. I don't mean the traditional go to church love your neighbor etc. I mean a type of transiton happens to a person, something unexplainable. Maybe it's the Holy Ghost. God's power Once a person has experience this christian revelation they may backslide ,in their life, but the spiritual knowledge never leaves.

Yes, I love those verses, and it is important for us all to hear his voice and follow his voice. To me, being a christian, mostly means serving God, which means I am to be serving Love. If I do not serve Love, it's not God I'm serving.. or working for.. And of course "love does no harm" so I won't be going around stealing from or defrauding folks.. or hurting.. or cheating..

First I must believe in God. When I believe in Him then I will hear His voice and follow Him and He will know who I am. If I have a relationship with God then I know that I can always depend on Him in good times and in bad times that He will be watching over me. You are right also the Jesus is referring to the Trinity. I know not all Christians believe in the Trinity but I do. I think that the verses also say that God will never let me go and no one can take me away from God unless I choose to leave God. In other words, God will hang on to me and never let me go.

I too believe in the Trinity I know some say because it's not in the bible but God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are referred to many many times as the same "One". I beleive this is true I don't care whether the word "trinity" is what they are called or not.

I too love discussing the Trinity - I think just as I did when I first heard the 'term' that many people just can't understand it. A Pastor friend explained it this way - The Trinity is like water "H2O" - it can be a solid, a liquid, or a gas. He deminstrated it by starting with an ice cube (solid), then melted it in a coffee maker (liquid), then let it come to a boil and showed us the steam (gas). God is much the same way - He is all 3 forms Father, Son, Holy Spirit, each having His different form.

The meaning of a Christian person means that you pray to our lord and believe in what he has told us in the bible, and try to live according to what the lord wants for us in following him. Yes I can understand the meaning of these words that Jesus says to us.

These verses meant o me that we are to read the words that Jesus taught and study them. Get them in our spirits and believe them. Learn to follow what Jesus teaches, be longsuffering, loving, kind, teachable and ready to help others.
Pray for God to open up our understanding and teach us through the Holy Spirit. We need to ask God to open up our spiritual ears to here Jesus. Hear His quidness and direction in everything in our lives.
