barking

How do you keep your little dog from barking constantly? I have a little Bichon and he gets very excited especially when someone comes in the door or if he wants something. The more i yell at the little sucker to shut the heck up the more he barks. It's like he's barking back at me!

keep treats by the door so when you have to answer it, give him one and that might help.
