Dry mouth when sick

Does anyone else get a really dry mouth when they are sick and nothing seems to cure it? I am sick right now and always when I am sick I get a really dry mouth and no matter how much or what I drink nothing seems to help. I think its cause I mainly breath out my mouth instead of my nose when I am sick and can't breath because of being stuffy. Have you been able to figure out something to drink or eat or something to fix it?

Only a hot shower helps me. I will drink and drink water...but it does not help. But when I sit in a hot shower, that seems to do the trick. Have you tried a humidifier?

yes, I get a dry mouth when I am ill - maybe it is the body's means of getting me to replenish needed fluids, and to help flush out the toxins or whatever it is getting me down. The worst dry mouth though is after certain surgeries - and your tongue cleaves to the roof of your mouth and you can not talk for the tongue won't cooperate.

Yes, i get this, espeically when i have a cough or a cold. I get such a dry, tickly throat, and it's soooo annoying, it's almost painful! I don't know what to do to cure it, but i sure would like to!
