Can I Have Something for Dessert??

Is there something that your kids ask for that just makes you cringe? I don't know why but every night after dinner my daughter will say "Can I have some dessert?"...meaning some candy or other junk! Every time she says those words I just want to run from her....I don't know why, maybe because she isn't just saying "Can I have candy?"

My kids know that unless I have made somthing just for them the answer is no.I am careful what I give my kids becouse abesity runs in my family.

LOL I know what you mean. Funny thing is, my son only asks that when he doesn't completely finish his dinner. We have the rule that he has to complete his meal - in full - for dessert.

Try serving her candy for dinner and see if she still asks for dessert! ;-)

She has obviously worked out that you can not refuse her some desert Lol. I just wanted to let you know something I heard on the radio. If your kid is going to eat sugar it is best they do it straight after their dinner than any other time across the day.
