This is a question for both sexes on this forum! What's the very longest you've ever had your hair? Did you like it being that long? Why did you cut it, or maybe you've kept it that long? How long is it how? The longest i've had my hair was almost down to my bum as a kid. I guess i cut it becuase i grew up and wanted trendy hair styles that required shorter lengths. It would be too dificult to manage if i still had it that long! My hair is currently shouler length.

the longest i have had my hear was down to my bum. I was in grade school. I cut it when i started 7 th grade. Just wanted a change. I've had it short for a while, than down to the middle of my back, back to short etc. Now it is down to the middle of my back again. I like to change it from time to time. Now it is this long basically because I have been ill for a while, and cannot make it to the hair dresser. When my boyfriend has to cut it for me it looks better long. I cannot imagine what I'd look like if he had cut it short!

You're definately better off waiting untill you can get a hairdresser to cut it than getting a non-professional to do it! Hope you get better soon so you can go get it done how you want it.

hi there, when i was younger i had my hair down to my waist line, i had to have it cut shorter tho because it was too hard to manage and everytime i washed it, it took around 20 minutes maybe longer to blowdry it and if i never blowdryed it, it took up to around 2 hours to dry by its'self. now its shoulder length, it's much easier to manage and im trying to grow it just a little bit longer but not too long. =)

My hair is currently past the middle of my back. I have let it get as long as past my hips but I periodically cut anywhere from 6 inches to 8 inches off at a time. I like my hair long as I do not look good with short hair. I do keep it cut in layers though as it gets real heavy (I have enough hair for 3 people it is really thick and naturally wavy). I also keep my bangs cut.

By the way I cut around 6-8 inches off it annually as my hair grows relativly fast and I only get it cut to just past my shoulders I do not go any shorter than that. I have really thick hair that takes for ever to dry but I like it and I like it long.

When I was a little girl I could sit on my hair AFTER it was braided. Loose it hung well past my bottom. My mother cut it all off when I was in the second grade. It took her 8 tries to find someone who would cut it. Her regular stylist refused to cut it as he said it was the most beautiful head of hair he has ever seen and he just couldn't bring himself to cut it. I was actually happy to have it cut off as it is HOT in Texas in the summer and that much hair is just torture. :) When I got to jr. high I let it grow long again and by my Jr. year of high school I could sit on it again. Then my senior year I needed a change and I cut off to chin length. My mom was so mad that I had cut my hair without telling her. But then I let it grow out again. I just cut off over 20 inches of hair. Seriously, I cut it all off on Tuesday. I just looked at myself in the mirror Monday morning and felt old. So, Tuesday morning I went to my mom's house and asked her to cut my hair. It just brushes my shoulders. I also colored my hair Tuesday night. I feel 100% better about myself. As for taking care of my hair, long or short it takes about 2 hours to dry (it's thick). If I were to braid my hair while wet, it would take about 1 day to dry out. I have actually done that before, washed and braided my hair. At the end of the day when I took the braid out, my hair was still wet. I will admit that I do LOVE long hair and I will most likely grow my hair out again, but I like shorter hair too. I think I just kept it long because my hubby liked it and I was just too cheap to go have it done. It woudl probably still be long if I hadn't noticed how much gray was in it and how old I looked. Not to mention that my mother told me that I looked very "ethnic" with my hair long, grey and always in a braid. That was the final nail in the coffin on my long hair. I didn't want to look like my great-grandmother!!

I was just curious if you donated the hair to Locks of Love? You can donate hair to be made into wigs for Cancer patients and such. It has to be at least 10". If I decide to cut mine, I am hoping to donate mine if I get enough cut off. I think only certain places donate, though, so you have to check in advance.

My hair is currently just shy of being waist long, the longest I have ever had it was to my thigh. I do like long hair better than short as I can put it up in hot weather, with shorter hair it hangs on my neck and bugs me. The trouble with the long hair is it gets in the way - drop soap in the shower, bend over and your hair is dragging on the floor - you step on it, ouch. My hair is rather thick and wavy, it tends to snarl up and takes a long time to comb through. The reason I had my hair cut was to donate to locks of love, I was able to donate nine 24 inch sections, and the hair cut was free! The cut enabled my hair to still be mid back length, which was nice.

Wow, having it thigh-long is pretty long! I imagine even at waist length it can get in the way a lot. It's great that you had it cut for a good cause!

When I was in the fourth grade, my hair had reached my mid-back. It was my desire as a child to have long hair, so I intended to grow it longer. However, I ended up getting lice, and my mother cut my hair incredibly short because of it. That was the longest my hair has ever grown. I now have a really wacky hair cut with several different lengths. My bangs are the longest, and reach all the way down to the top of my stomach. The rest of my hair has been cut in an A-Line fashion (the hair closer to the front is longer, and gradually gets shorter towards the back). The longest part is shoulder length, and the shortest part is about mid-neck. It's not as bad as it sounds, and I get a lot of compliments on it.

I've had that sort of haircut, just much shorter overall. It was longer at front shorter at back it was quite nice actually

When I was a teen-ager I always wore my hair down to my waist, about 15 inches long. I have grown it out to 13 inches twice and donated it to Locks Of Love. It takes 2 years to grow long enough to donate, but I don't think I will do it again. I am getting a lot older and it is so hard to grow and keep fixed when it is that long. Right now it is almost shoulder length, but I will cut it short when it gets warmer.

i had my hair so long that i couldnt stand it because of the sweat. i feel like icky or itchy when i have my long hair and it is hot outside. the only reason i havent cut it is because i only cut it wednesday and saturdays and if im busy in one of those days, i wait for the next time i usually cut my hair. i cut my hair on wednesday 0 on the sides and a 2 on the top, and saturdays just the sides. when i im busy on wednesday, i wait till the next wednesday to cut the top. well i dont why i do this, but i know its kinda dumb i wait.

My hair was almost to my waist a couple of years ago. I just never got around to getting the money to get it cut. It didn't look good; much too stringy and straggly. I finally ended up chopping it off myself, to a mid back length. Turned out pretty good. I still don't like how it gets knotted up when I wear a winter coat, and blows in my face when it's windy. But it looks good, and that's what counts.

when i was about 14 i managed to get it to the middle of my back but i cut it to shoulder length not much later because it was in very bad shape. i am partly tempted to try and grow it again but the sensible person in me wont, plus i know i suit shoulder length alot more, and it doesn't make a bump when i wear my wigs, very long hair would be too hard to conceal ^_^

The longest is below my hips and presently they are that much only.i love my hairs and want to be that long forever BY GOD'S GRACE.they are very silky, soft and straight. its difficult to manage at times when they become frizzy but then too i love them and try to take care of them.

The longest I've had my hair was shoulder length, I would love to have it longer but, it has a mind of it's own and when I blow dry it and style it, it always kinks the opposite way no matter what I do. So now I've got it layered and just above my shoulders so I can have it either curly or straight depending on whether it whats to play ball!

The longest I've ever had my hair was right at my waist. My oldest son was only 2 or 3 years old at the time. I loved the length, but it was hard to deal with it*and* a little kid. Eventually I got it cut to shoulder length. My current hair length is to the middle of my back. Hubby wants me to get it down past my butt, and I'm curious to see if can actually do it this time, as it was a goal of mine to get it that long when it was down to my waist the first time around.

My hair was down to below my bottom, I hated when it had to be washed and brushed, my mother used to iron it get the moisture out of it before I went to be. I remember it being in ringlets which I also hated as you had to have rags wound around the lengths of hair. When I was about 10 or 11yrs mum sent me to the hairdresser to have my long hair cut, I came home bawling my eyes out as it was cut above my ears, the lady had put it in a ponytail then cut above it, consequently I wore a hat to school for a while.

I had my hair well past my shoulders. I didn't cut it for about 2 and half years. One of the reasons I cut it was because it jsut didn't look good anymore on me. I looked more like a girl and had better hair then some of the girls I know. I'm back down to a regular lenghth now for a guy. I look so much better this way. i did get pictures and keept a braided lock of it just because i'll probably never do that again.

My hair is very curly, so it never looks as long as those with straight hair. As a kid, I had it long enough that if I could straighten it out enough it would reach my waist. I cut it because in sixth grade I was going to camp with a friend who looked a lot like me, she had short hair, and we wanted to be "twins". =p The length of my hair has varied a lot over the years. I grew it out from early junior high to when I was 19 or so, and then I cut it off in a fit of rage after I had been very ill and unable to keep it untangled. It was about an inch or two long for a while, just long enough to barely curl. Then I grew it out again, until right before I had my son last year. Usually when I cut it, it's because there's some life-changing event, like illness or the birth of my son. Right now I'm going to keep it short for a while, because it makes it harder for the baby to pull out, it takes less time to deal with, and I like how light my head feels.

I have had my hair as long as the middle of my back. I do not like it that long. It does look good, but it takes forever to dry, as I have very thick hair. It is also constantly a bother, as it catches behind you while sitting in the chair, and I hate to feel confined with it pinned underneath my back while I am sleeping. My hair is currently a little below my shoulder, and personally, I love the last haircut that I just got. Very versatile and looks great!

I've always wanted long hair but it's thin 'scandinavian' hair so it never really got long. Until NOW. I haven't cut it in a long time inspite of everyone saying that we have to cut it at least every second month. So don't cut it at all is my tip if you want long hair, buy expensive shampoo like redken and it will look good anyway :)

I've had mine waist length but had not realised that it used to be that length until i watched a video of a party from years ago and was suprised how long my hair had been. I had it cut short a few years ago when someone said i was getting too old to have my hair long, but recently have grown it again just past m y shoulders and like it longer, this year I plan to grow it long for summer but may go short again in autumn.

I have had my hair down to my waist. I had to have it cut because it was so thick that it was giving me headaches. When I got it cut, they just put it in a ponytail and cut and my ponytail weighed almost six pounds. No wonder I had headaches.
