Your mylot referrals

I responded to a discussion about downlines and was wondering what you would do if you were in the following situation: If your downline made enough money that you wouldn't have to post more then a few times a month on mylot, would you stop posting? Personaly I don't think I would. I love meeting new people and it's a great way to get my name out on the internet. I have links on my profile that I hope people who enjoy my discussions check out, but I'm not on mylot for the money, I'm on it for the people. What about you?

I don't know that I would call that one good. I would say mor selfish and greedy. I wonder if she realizes when she writes those articles she's getting paid for that she's making some one else money.

Well, welcome to mylot! This is a great place to learn English for anyone who knows it enough to read some of it. I also think it is a wonderful place to meet people from other countries. My parents are envolved in an exchange program and we have a student from Germany, I have learned so much from him and I have learned more from the different people here on mylot.

I do love those discussions where your keep checking it to see if someone responded to you and what they said! I think thats the best part about mylot. You can get so involved in the world without leaving the comfort of your home.

I just read that discussion and I don't plan to respond to it or connect with the poster. Life works both ways. If you work for me, I'll work for you. A friend online or off contributes to the relationship, I contribute to the friendship. You help me and I help you. I believe the person who posted that discussion only had a 6 star rating, hmm, I wonder why. I will continue to post discussions and make connections, rate responses and choose best responses. I enjoy the discussions and it is a creative outlet for me. I love the star rating system. I must admit, I try to join with others who have 9 or 10 star ratings because I know they are working hard and that they will post quality discussions and responses. So, I will connect with you cristlegirl. Also, if you love mylot, try www.gather.com. There are no referral links. You join to earn points towards gift cards to Borders, etc. or cash. You write articles, poems, short stories, post games, upload your photos and connect with friends. You can create groups and enter Amazon's short stories contest. It's similar to mylot, very addictive! The referrals I have for mylot I got from Gather and I learned about mylot through Gather.

I have been in (meatspace, rather than cyberspace) network marketing for almost 20 years, and it's my observation that the people who "do well" are the ones who are SUPPORTIVE of their downlines, and work to get new referrals... and basically don't hinge their own activity on how much, or how little a downline is "making." What's more, people who are "in it for the money" rarely are the ones who do well. People who are "in it for the people" (with money as the CONSEQUENCE-- because we're ALL trying to make money, whether we like it, or not), tend to do well. Many years ago, I was mentored by a very successful network marketer (he was making $600,000+ a year) and pointed out that that anything that involves "referrals" and "downlines" and "networks" ultimately has to be treated as RELATIONSHIP MARKETING. He never had "huge" downlines, but he personally knew EVERY SINGLE PERSON in his network-- kids' names, birthdays, jobs, promotions, family. He never had the HUGE networks we heard about... but he believed in the saying "If you take care of your PEOPLE, the MONEY will take care of itself." He was right.

I would have to agree with him too, it's all about how you treat the people below you and how well you get to know them.

I will be posting away, yea that I am not in a downline with a lazy person at the end. When I first came to mylot is was for the discussion, I have always been active in forums for sites that I belong to. I had been having a lot of fun in the groups on myspace when a friend told me about what he was doing on mylot. Needless to say I signed up and will be posting til the site is no more. Thanks for the discussion cristlegirl.

Well, I know last month my Referals made more $$ that I did on here, as I was Super busy, but that did not mean I have Stopped posting. I have made and met many wonderful people here, and I enjoy the many Friendships that I have made. I know some people only make $$ on here via their referals anymore, and that is OK if that is them. But I also feel you are shorting yourself when you do that, as their are many wonderful people on here, and you can learn a lot from others when you're here.

Thats how I feel if someone just earns off there referrals, at least in a program like this one where it actually helps to be involved, not just you but everyone else on mylot earns more when more people participate in the discussions.

Considering I have 17 referals and not one of them post anymore. I don't think I will ever have that problem. But thinking about your question. The answer would be no I would not stop posting. I would still post because I enjoy this iste. I enjoy reading and commenting on all the different discussions. Also I have never made over 15 bucks a month here yet. I would like to try and make 20 bucks. But that would required alot more posting.

That actually happened to me last January. I earned more than $14 from my referrals alone. I was very busy that month that if not for my referrals, I would not have reached the minimum payout amount. But even though my referrals are a great help in earning more, I would definitely not stop posting here. Yes, the extra cash I get here is my primary reason for being here. But I also enjoy giving comments and reading other people's points of view as well.

I would like to imagine the situation where I can get enough money from my referral, but I would not stop coming or posting on Mylot. I am here on MYlot because I enjoy here and I like my Mylot friends, this is not the money. Anyway we can't get here enough money only for what any one would like to be here for hours. If I can't enjoy here I would not come. Till my friends are here and I am enjoying posting, I will continue to be here, no question how much money I get.

I already don,t post a lot these days. But it would be great to make more money with some referals. I will still come a least once a week on mylot and still will answer to some of my friends dicussion. I don't think that anything would change.

Good referals are hard to come by. Your the only good one I have! I know once I start working agian I won't have as much time to get on here, but at that point it will be more for the fun of posting then the money.

I think if my referrals make me a lot of money, I will be encouraged to post even more. How I wish I have referrals. I am now stuck with time to post. That's why I am unable to earn more.

Keep posting and trying to get the referrals. get your friends to join! I'm happy to hear you would post more, so would I. I would post alot in my referals discussions just to help them out alone.

Well, I would be amazed if anyone could actually acquire sufficient active members to generate a monthly income from Mylot, but this is still a fairly good question. I would definitely continue to post, because the income that I derive from Mylot is not the main attraction in the first place. My earnings for February were just under $10, so if revenue was the only attraction then I would not be posting now.

I think your right, many people on here don't make enough to do that, so they stay just for the people and the fun. Most sites like this are not going to make you rich.

I enjoy My Lot so much, that I doubt I would cut down on posting and responding. Besides, I would earn more, regardless of how much my downline is earning. I have 3 in my downline. One never really got started, and the other two gave up after one month. Does anyone seriously earn a lot from their downlines?

I have 15, I tried one of those referral sites and people just joined for the points and didn't do anything, so I stopped useing it. I only have 2 active referrals and those I got on my own.

Wow, I wish I knew how to build a downline that was that spectacular! What's your secret? To be honest, I'd probably slack off a bit more, but I don't think I'd give up posting all together. It's kind of addictive when you start posting here. Besides, even if you do have a great downline, you're still getting money every time you post, so why not keep at it!

I am new at this but if you ask me, it doesn't matter whether my downline make lots of money since the first reason that I joined here is to make more friends and learn lots of stuffs. There are lots of things get posted here and that is enough to make me very excited. By the way, how do we check whether someone sign under us or not?

I just joined mylot, and I'm on it for the money, plain and simple! As time goes by, I may find that I'm on it for the people, in fact, I'm sure I will be on it for the people. I haven't made any money or friends yet, so I should just say, "I'm here just because..." By the way, my mother is "elusivebutterfly" in case people want to connect with me, via her reputation! Interesting topic of discussion. I had no idea that there was a such thing as a "downline" or a way to make money through having a higher rating. I guess it gives you incentive to spend more time on this site, doesn't it?

Welcome to mylot! I take it your kinda new to the whole makeing money online thing. Downlines are really very helpful for that, if you can get people who trust you and work for you. I'm also sure you will grow to love mylot for the people and not just the money.
