In most schools here in our country, this kind of relationship is an issue. One reason would be the grades of the student might be affected. How about you? what's your opinion on this? Do you think this kind of relationship is accepted by your society?

Love moves in mysterious ways. So if love comes between a a student and a professor, it could never go wrong unless both parties don't know how to handle their own relationship. Issues, talks and gossips usually happen. So both of them must be matured enougjh in handling the situation. Hence, the only main point here is be sure that it's because of love. Not because you are only using your professor just to get high grades.

i think it is okay if the student is not under the professor. because if the student is actually under any of the classes handled by the professor, there is the issue of the grading system. the professor might give the student of which he has an affair a really good grade. the relationship will really create doubts among other students. Plus the other students might also think that the student which has an affair with the professor knows the questions in the examination already, which is very very possible. That is the downside in this kind of relationship. this should be discouraged.

I agree. The very first consideration here is fairness. Even if the professor has no intentions of giving biased grades to his/her student, it will still be affected given the relationship that they have. Thanks for the comment. =)

It depends on the situation. If the professor one of the faculty member of the course the student is in, It would not be good at all. If they are in different school or course, I think there's no problem with that.

I think it is probably the age difference as well as the difference in the status of the professor-student relationship that discourages such behavior. I feel if you are genuinely in love with someone, then these things dont really matter.

This happened to my cousin who fell in love with her professor..but one thing I admire in them is their maturity to handle things like this, especially that most people tend to scrutinize a relationship like theirs. They remained a little discreet until she graduated and landed a good job. After a couple of months, they got married and their were even some of his colleagues who were surprised because they didn't know at all that he had a relationship with my cousin since she was still a 3rd year college.

I feel that the teacher-student relationship is a rather sacred one. It should be one containing respect and not love. But then again, love is blind and what it occurs, the parties concerned are powerless to stop themselves. Though I disagree with the idea of a teacher and student involving themselves in a relationship, I on the other hand also pity them for no one is powerful enough to defeat cupid's arrow when she strikes. :/

In society it is considered as very sacred.Student should consider his or her teacher as a very respectable person. So that can't be accepted
